A large 19th Century Spanish oak dresser, the superstructure with a moulded cornice above two plate shelves with shaped aprons, the base with shallow relief scroll carving and two panel doors with projecting scroll feet, 195.5cm wide, 53cm deep, 204cm high CONDITION REPORT: All over wear and scuffs commensurate with age and use. Upper section possibly associated. The superstructure with some sun fading to area, in particular the shelf edges. Old repairs of shelf mouldings where screws or dowels had been fitted. Parts of the scroll work on the uprights the superstructure has been replaced, restored. Top of sideboard with some fading, rung marks and scratches. A light split to the back right of top. Sides of base more heavily scuffed and left side with a small crack. Light crack to moulding around door panel. One piece of half circle moulding missing to base. Interior with one shelf and rustic. Later locks fitted, two keys present.
AN 18TH CENTURY MAHOGANY SMALL KNEEHOLE DESK, with moulded edge to the rectangular top, fitted an arrangement of seven drawers with shaped brass swan-neck handles, the central panel door enclosing single shelf, on ogee bracket feet; 32¼” wide x 30¼” high x 19½” deep (some restoration to drawer-fronts).
