A Small 17th Century Boarded Oak Coffer of good colour and patination. The twin plank lid on iron strap hinges opening to reveal a small shelf at one end (the base of a candle box) with decorative 19th century engraved paper lining centred by a hand scribed inscription dated 1815. The front board carved with two fanned lunettes with angels enhanced with punchwork. The end boards with further punchwork to vertical run moulding standing on arched cut-outs, 19¼ ins (49 cms) high, 38 ins (97 cms) long, 17 ins (43 cms) wide.
