A 19th century carved oak hall mirror, the bevelled oval glass with foliate spandrels and with further dragon, vase and cover carved decoration and with shelf beneath. Width 51 cm. CONDITION REPORT: There is a small chip to the ear on the right hand dragon. There is a tiny rub to the nose of the left hand dragon. There is a very fine age split running through the centre which needs to be tightened up. The left hand front corner of the shelf is slightly scuffed. Overall generally in good order but requiring a good clean and waxing.
An Edwardian inlaid mahogany square envelope card table, with frieze drawer and tapered legs of square section united by a galleried centre shelf. Width 58 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table is structurally very sound. The flaps are not warped. There is some shrinkage between the flaps making the original gaps larger than originally intended. The inlay to the top is in generally good order with only one small loss. The green baize is original with no holes but it is very dirty and stained with liquid marks etc. It is also worn in places but not perforated. The baize has a black and gilt tooled leather edge which is in reasonably good order with only minor losses around the quadrants. The baize is slightly separated from the gilt edge on two corners. The outer mahogany veneered top frame surrounding the baize has stress fractures at the corners. The damage is only significant at one corner where there is a 7 cm split and some small veneer losses. All hinges are original and there is no significant movement. The table is structurally very sound with no repairs to the legs, shelf or supports. The castors are original and in good order. There are some minor scuffs and marks to the polish as one would expect.
A pair of white painted bookcases in the Regency style, each with moulded cornice above a series of adjustable shelves and each base fitted with three cupboard doors with brass grilles. Width 158 cm, depth 63 cm, height 242 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Apart from minor surface marks and small losses to the paintwork both bookcases are in generally good condition. They were apparently purpose built for a specific property. The shelves to both bookcases are adjustable. We have been unable to fit all of the shelves as further shelf supports are required. These are both metal and plastic and it should be possible to source something suitable to provide the extras required. The bookcase backs and sides have both slightly sprung when dismantled and the bookcase tops will require correctly fixing to the bottoms to remedy this minor springing. All doors are in good condition as are the grilles. There are no splits to the sides or tops.
An Edwardian walnut low bookcase, with rear pediment above a moulded dentil cornice and four drawers with glazed cupboard doors beneath enclosing shelves and raised on a plinth. Width 184 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The shelves are adjustable and could all be removed if necessary. The internal height of the bookcase is 86.5 cm, the internal depth to the shelf fronts is 28 cm. The left-hand doors open but the lock is fixed in the lock position. The right-hand doors are locked. We have what we believe to be the key but it is reticent in turning the lock mechanism. These are simple locks and the problem should be easily remedied. The bookcase is in reasonably good condition. There are no significant issues. The doors are not warped, all brass work is original. The colour is generally good. There are some minor blemishes and marks in places but no real problems. The rear upstand is detached. The top edge moulding has an old timber break however this simply needs fixing in place as there is no loss. There are some minor scuffs to the rear upstand and a very small loss to the top left-hand corner.
