A late 19th century Chinese red cinnabar lacquer shelf unit on stand, deeply carved in relief with flowers and fruits, comprising three shelves and two small drawers below. 62 cm wide, 35 cm deep, 83 cm high.Condition report: Some cracking and losses, probably due to shrinkage, evident to all surfaces. Fretwork loose from under black base. Generally structurally sound.
A Good Draper’s Shop room set, German late 19th century, the blue painted wooden shop with gold lining, windows with gilt embossed pelmets and flanked by gold painted pillars, interior with original papered walls and floor, counter and cupboard, shelf and drawer unit to rear and two original wooden plant pots with material flowers, other furnishings include three Paul Leonhardt cream and gold painted chairs, floor standing shelves and chest of drawers with card embossed decoration and China shoulder head doll, contents include a good selection of haberdashery items including bolts of cloth, lace, cotton reels, hats, jackets, boxes and more, (condition: very good, some minor wear), 13 ¾” (35cm) tall, 33 ¼” (84.5cm) wide, 11” (28cm) deep.
A German walnut and ebonised desk, early 20th century, by Vereinigte Werkstatten, with bead mouldings throughout, the top with rail gallery to the rear and with green and gilt tooled leather inset above a frieze drawer and flanking moulded cupboard doors, one enclosing a shelf, the other an arrangement of three slides, the reeded sides and back with central further mouldings, all on acanthus carved tapering legs, the underside of the kneehole stamped V.W. for the workshop and serial numbered 3183, 84cm high, 172cm wide, 82cm deepCatalogue Note: Inspired by the British Arts and Crafts Movement, the Vereinigte Werkstatten fur Kunst in Handwerk (United Workshops for Art in Craft) was established in Munich in 1898. It expanded rapidly, producing not only furniture but also all other items for the home, including wallpaper, textiles and lighting. Notable designers associated with the workshops were Hermann Obrist, Richard Riemerschmid, Bruno Paul, and Peter Behrens. It moved to Bremen in 1910, where Rudolf Alexander Schroder was a significant designer for the workshops and where, particularly from the 1920s, the production of furniture and fittings for ocean liners became a major feature of the company. An 18th century oak salt box with applied geometric motifs, with iron fittings and interior shelf, height 37cm, width 115cm, depth 32cm. CONDITION REPORT The top is bowed with splits, deep scratches and marks throughout. Bottom left plinth base is missing, back is bowed, marks and scratches throughout.

A Pierre Vandel gilt metal and burr walnut occasional table of rectangular form with glass top and shelf, height 39.5cm, width 58cm length 109cm and a pair of matching square occasional tables, 58 x 58cm, each with label 'Pierre Vandel, Paris' (3). CONDITION REPORT The rectangular table has scratches to the glass, there is a knock to one of the corners and a tiny area of corrosion, scratch to tone leg, rubbing to one side of gilt metal to top frame. The two square side tables have a few scratches to the legs and scratches to the glass.

Simpson (1857-1922), an Arts and Crafts carved oak hanging cupboard c.1908, signed on one drawer A W Simpson, other drawer incised No.1697 Carved with a decorative frieze of pine needles and cones below the cornice, over two open shelves, with another open shelf below left with two short drawers and a cupboard to the right, the door heavily carved with scrolling foliage, with short apron beneath with shaped sides, with brass pulls and hooks 62.7 cm high; 74.5 cm wide; 20.8 cm deepThere are losses to the front left corner of the cornice and a smaller loss to the back left corner. Loss to the back right corner. Further small chips and indentations along the various vertical and horizontal edges. There is an inky water mark on the bottom shelf left and multiple red and blue ink stains in the cupboard. Splits to the back board, one full length and one half length.
