1948 Chevrolet Fleetline Aero Transmission: Mileage:31089The Chevrolet Special Deluxe Series AH Fleetline was produced from 1941 to 1952. The Fleetline was introduced late in the 1941 model year as a four-door sedan only. In 1942, a fastback two-door ‘Aerosedan’ was also offered while the sedan was renamed ‘Sport Master’. In 1947, the Fleetline made up 71.26% of Chevrolet's sales. For the years' 1949 through 1952 models, the fastback was the only one offered and Chevrolet dropped the Fleetline for 1953. Production was indefinitely delayed in 1942 due to World War II, after 110,000 vehicles had been made, though several thousand Chevrolet coupé and sedans were produced during the war years for military staff use. In 1945, production for civilians resumed and the original series was produced through to 1948.This incredibly rare right hand drive example of the pretty Fleetline Aerosedan has been owned and cared for by our vendor for the past 20 years, having purchased it shortly after a full restoration. Presented in black with chrome in abundance and with a contrasting blue trim which are in very good all-round condition. We believe, from new, the car was originally used by the South African diplomatic core before being displayed at a museum in Port Elizabeth. In 2019, OAS 390 was featured in the film ‘Once Upon a Time in London’, a film about London gangs prior to the Krays in the late 40s early 50s, in a nod to this a violin case (or minigun) is placed on the rear parcel shelf. The sweeping lines of the Aero and Deluxe coupé are proving very popular and this Aero is supplied with a UK V5 registration document and American Auto Dating Certificate. This is a very good example of a highly collectable American coupé with the added bonus of being right hand drive.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale.
