An early 20th century large oak specimen display cabinet/bookcase, originally from Exeter museum, the moulded cornice over four open sections and an arrangement of adjustable shelves, upon the base formed with two pairs of panelled cupboard doors and a plinth base, 212cm H x 241cm W x 48cm DCabinet splits into two sections, upper section 122cm H x 241cm W x 36cm D, base 90cm H x 232cm W x 48cm D, shelf depth to open shelves 29cmCondition reportThe doors numbered 293 and 294 don't close flush unlike the doors numbered 295 and 296, please see additional images.Otherwise wear is commensurate with age and use, with some stains and marks, although structurally sound with no major faults or damage. Lacking one shelf to the upper section and a shelf to the base interior.

Front board shows some blue spotting. Binding shows a degree of handling dirt throughout. Bookplate to inside front cover. All pages show age related darkening. The odd page shows additional marking including the odd fox mark, and some show the odd crease. The binding is slightly open at page 225.Water-Babies: Shows expected shelf wear, bumps to all corners, and wear and fading to spine. Front board shows light scratching. Back board shows age related darkening. Inscription date 1924 to front free endpaper. All pages show age related darkening. The odd page shows additional marking including the odd fox mark, and some show the odd crease. The binding is slightly open at page 48 and page 64.
'BB'S FAIRY BOOK MEETING HILL, illustrated by D.J. Watkins Pitchford, first edition, blue cloth boards, silver embossed title to cover, DJ, illustrated title page, fifteen colour plates including frontispiece, Hollis & Carter 1948 CONDITION REPORT:The DJ shows a taped repair to the front cover lower front corner and a tear to the upper front corner, a loss to the back cover lower edge approximately 8cm wide, and a small loss to the top of the spine. The DJ is somewhat worn and grimy overall, and shows further small chips and tears to the edges. The boards show expected shelf wear, bumps to all corners and age-related fading to the blue cloth. There is a slight wave to the back board. The block shows some dirt to the page edges. The pages show some age-related darkening but no significant wear or foxing. The binding is generally tight but is somewhat open between pages 40 and 41. The book appears to be complete.
