An very fine early 19th Century carved giltwood Console or Side Table, the serpentine shaped moulded marble top, over a profusely carved and pierced apron or frieze with flowers, shells and scrolls, and with four similarly decorated legs, united by stretcher with small shelf, scroll feet, 95cms (37 1/2") high; 144cms (54 1/2") wide. A large William IV period mahogany Sideboard, the shaped high back with carved plumage and scrolls, and with top shelf, over an inverted breakfront top with reeded edge and with three drawers, centre flanked by two panel doors on four turned and twisted front legs, with heavy paw feet, possibly Irish, 216cms (7'1") long. A Victorian honey oak side cupboard in an early Flemish taste Featuring intricately carved frieze drawer with nicely cast gilt brass drop ring handle, above a recessed carved and panelled cupboard enclosing single shelf, flanked by turned pilasters, raised on stepped plinth base and flat bun feet, width approx 91cm. CONDITION REPORT: middle panel bows inwards, loss of moulding to top left column, some knocks, scratches and dents, loss of polish near bottom of door frame, rocks to the back right hand corner, otherwise ok. NICK DRAKE - BRYTER LAYTER - Working back in time with the heartbreakingly beautiful 1970 album from Nick, with another impeccable production from Joe Boyd. Island pink rim (ILPS 9134). The record is in outstanding Ex+ condition with perhaps one or two of the smallest, wispiest markings when viewed under very strong light. A-1U/B-1U matrix endings again. The textured sleeve is in VG+ condition with some shelf/edgewear, but no rips/tears to note.
THE PRETTY THINGS - S.F. SORROW - An outstanding condition original UK stereo copy of the revered 1968 LP, released on the striking black/blue Columbia label (SCX 6306). The 'Gramophone Co.' 'Sold In The UK' vinyl is in lovely strong Ex condition with just one or two very minor markings, only really seen at the end of track A5. The original gatefold 'inside flipback' design sleeve is in clean Ex condition with some minor shelf wear and a little ringwear on the reverse. A great copy.
DAVID BOWIE- THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD DRESS SLEEVE - An original UK pressing of the 1971 album with the withdrawn 'dress' sleeve (Mercury 6338041). The record is in VG condition. There are surface marks, which are mainly seen on side 2, but these do not extend deeper and there are no scratches. The labels have spindle wear. MATRIX 6338041 1Y//1 + 2Y//1 endings. The sleeve is in VG+ condition. There is apparent edge and shelf wear, but no rips or tears to note. A very presentable copy of this hugely iconic record. Included is a dub of the LP copied onto CD.
A late 19th to early 20th Century Anglo Indian fret work hardwood bracket shelf or plateau, the upper frieze panel carved with buildings, trees and wild animals over three brackets, each supported by an elephant and howdah over tapered acanthus leaf terminals, height 86cm and width 58cm, S/D.
