The Esarco was developed by Major Michael Somerton-Rayner as a private initiative in response to lessons learned by the British Army during the 1982 Falklands conflict for the need for lightweight high mobility load carriage. Initially produced as an 8x8 model using simple construction, the design utilised off the shelf Land Rover components to produce a range of high mobility vehicles. This example, a 6x6 version, was essentially a smaller and lighter derivative. Fitted with a Rover V8 engine, it does start and drive in gear but it is thought the clutch hydraulics require attention. Will require some recommissioning work before use. Registered with the DVLA in 1995 as an Agricultural Machine. Two registered owners, the last recorded since 2002. Mileage recorded at 51,918.
