A Magnificent 18th Century Dutch Marquetry Cupboard of rich colour and patination. The pedimented top with a carved central cartouche, sweeping down to canted sides adorned with inlaid marquetry panels of flowers. The shaped top doors having marquetry on both sides, the frontal recessed centre panels depicting an ornamental urn emanating foliate sprays & parakeets, bordered by butterflies & flowers. The doors open to reveal a single shelf with two floral inlaid frieze drawers and three lower marquetry drawers. The bombé fronted lower section having two short and two long drawers above a wavy apron and standing on hairy paw feet. 85 ins (216 cms) high, 67 ins (170 cms) wide.
A Fine Regency Mahogany Waterfall Bookcase. The top and graduated break-sided shelves having reeded edges and raised on boldly carved scroll pillars ornamented with acanthus leaves. The lower shelf having ringed columns, on a plinth base and club feet. 48 ins (122 cms) high, 52 ins x 14¾ ins (132 cms x 37.5 cms).
A Fine Regency Rosewood Chiffonier. The back crested with carved foliate scrolls and fitted with a shelf. The frieze housing a long drawer inlaid with scrolling brass embellishments and stringing above two similarly inlaid doors framing arch topped grilles of gilt trellis work backed in watered silk and adorned with rosette studs. The moulded pilasters leading down to reeded bun feet, 31½ ins (80 cms) wide, 19½ ins (50 cms) deep and 52 ins (132 cms) in height.
An Unusual 19th Century Yew wood Console Table/Jardiniere, possibly Russian. The radial veneered demi-lune top having a moulded edge and a raised centre section with recessed finger pull handle lifting off to reveal a tin planter. Standing on three square sabre legs with moulded scroll tops and stylised paw feet united by a central under-shelf with turned roundel adornments and leading down to a demi-lune platform base elevated in ball feet, 41¾ ins (106 cms) wide, 47½ ins (121 cms) in height.
A Pretty 19th Century Painted Mahogany Display Cabinet. The upper section surmounted by a moulded broken arch pediment decorated with foliate sprays above cross-banding, a painted frieze of floral garlands and two glazed doors with astrigal moulded figure-of-eight glazing bars and a shelved interior backed in blue watered silk. The door frames painted with strings of bell-flowers and beads. The base section having two long bow-front drawers inlaid with satinwood cross-banding edged in stringing and painted with paterae and scrolling trails of flowers & foliage with gilt brass ribbon-tied reeded swing handles on beaded mounts. The square tapering legs on bulb feet united by a galleried under-shelf painted with a floral swag, 365 ins (92 cms) wide, 83 ins (211 cms) high.
An Edwardian Painted Satinwood Revolving Bookcase. The 17½ inch (44 cm) square quarter veneered top centred by a roundel depicting a pair of celestial cherubs and bordered in a garland of pink roses with stringing. The sides each housing a book compartment and caned oval panel surrounded by a painted floral garland. Standing on square tapering legs adorned with pendant bell flowers with a swept X-form stretcher bearing a small round under-shelf, 32 ins (81 cms) in height.
A Splendid Edwards & Roberts Sheraton Revival Desk. The raised top having two curved down-swept lids lifting to reveal a pigeon hole interior, decorated with pen-worked marquetry depicting an urn issuing flowers with an oval stringing border and an outer wreath of foliage. The central shaped shelf with brass rail above the writing desk with tooled leather insert and shaped front. The one long & two deep drawers ornamented with marquetry and flanked by scribed urns surmounting square tapering legs on brass spade feet. 38½ ins (98 cms) high, 45 ins (114.5 cms) x 24¾ (63 cms) diameter.
A Fabulous Quality Victorian Inlaid Mahogany Serpentine Front Display Cabinet with Secrétaire. The glazed upper section surmounted by a swan-neck pediment inlaid with cornucopia cascading flowers & foliage above a chequer banded frieze and two serpentine glass doors housing display shelves within. The swept sides adorned with elegant scrolls of foliage entwined in garlands and fluttering ribbons with trumpet vase crests of fruit & flowers enhanced with pen-work. The base section centred by a bowfront secrétaire drawer accommodating banks of satinwood drawers & pigeon holes with a maroon baize insert to the flap and small brass knop handles cast with rosettes & beading. The concaved side doors inlaid with S-scrolled cornucopia issuing sprays of bell flowers, fruit & foliage; with dolphins & crested urns ornamenting the swept sides. Standing on six slender square tapering legs with out-swept feet inlaid with stringing and united by a shaped under-shelf. 50 ins (127 cms) wide, 92 ins (234 cms) high.
A late 19th century mahogany and inlaid low open bookcase cabinet By Collinson & Lock of breakfront design, the arabesque inlaid frieze above a shelved recess flanked by a pair of panelled doors decorated with lambrequins and arabesques, stamped 'COLLINSON & LOCK, LONDON 5002' between fluted uprights on tapering legs united by an open shelf stretcher, on bun feet 155cm wide, 103cm, 35cm deep
A very unusual George III mahogany tray top table Sheraton style, circa 1800, the flared tray top with pierced handles to the sides and a high back, above three frieze drawers with boxwood edging and turned ivory handles, standing on square tapering legs united by a low full-width shelf, 45in. (115cm.) wide x 17in. (43.5cm.) deep x 32in. (82cm.) high. * This is a very intriguing piece of furniture which was almost certainly made as a one-off commission, possibly for a tradesman for display purposes. There is some evidence from marks beneath the edges of the tray top that it was originally contained in a case or box for transport or storage, leaving the tray top exposed.
