Pine Swiss painted two door Cupboard, with upper moulding over the canted corner base with central pair of single plank opposing doors with forge made iron hinges, catch, wedge shaped anti-warp strips inserted horizontally through the planks, with rustic iron escutcheons and lock, opening to reveal upper wide shelf over six large pigeon holes, one having loose fitting drawer, another having wooden hanging pegs. An Edwardian breakfront mahogany bookcase, on a plinth base, 183 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by GHThe back top section is cracked horizontally from one side around 8 inches. The top generally with dents and old scratches. Mouldings and veneer generally appear in reasonable used condition but with some chips, scratches and dents commensurate with age and use. Occasional small old veneer repairs. Leather below each shelf generally tatty and appears incomplete in places. Plinth generally quite heavily chipped and scratched. Back generally in good condition with some light cracks commensurate with age and use.
A Japanese Meiji period Shibayama style wall hanging cabinet with phoenix carved and pierced foliate pediment above a compartment with sliding doors flanked by shelves, above further shelf and cupboard, elaborately ivory and mother of pearl inlaid with birds and floral sprays, height 100cm. CONDITION REPORT: Losses to some of the very small inlaid detail. The legs of the hawk are a modern synthetic replacement. Rubbing to gilding and general wear comensurate with age.
