Lot 405
An early 20th century 'Peter Rabbits Book Shelf', the oak shelf with original label, to include a possible first trade edition of THE TALE OF PETER RABBIT, blue-grey boards with leaf end papers and 'wept big tears' on page 51, (at fault), twenty one volumes total of Beatrix Potter tales published by F.Warne & Co Ltd, 34cm high (at fault) CONDITION REPORT: The oak shelf has general light age wear - some scratches. The paper label to the top is worn - mostly around the aperture, sun faded and grubby. The books are in poor condition and some appear incomplete. Most have old ink on half title 'JH 23.12.28' and some other ink inscriptions. One of the copies of 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit' does have 97 pages but there is no date on the title page and 'Edmund Evans engravers and printers... etc' verso. Please see additional images. One of the copies of The Tale of Peter Rabbit may be a first trade edition: Cover lightly rubbed, split to the bottom of the spine. Front end papers with marks and wear to the gutter. Thirty one colour plates. Frontis plate loose at the bottom of the gutter. Binding breaks between pages 8 and 9. Page 9 quite grubby. Page 8 with slight edge tear. Internally grubby with rounded corners - gutters open in areas and wear at gutters. Some attention will be needed (as found)

A charming 20th century dolls house ' Toy Shop ' single room wall mountable cabinet. The Toy Shop features an eclectic mix of vintage juvenailia - some miniaturised items, other items from vintage board games etc. Featuring a large shelf of 'toys' and books, and a decorated display counter. The entire display is mounted within a wall hanging glazed cabinet, and can be accessed by the opening front. Fabulous detail, and a very well made dolls house miniature diorama. Contents generally appear very good, the outer case has some minor parts of the beading missing, and a split to the top 'sign' portion. A charming piece. Cabinet measures approx; H31cm x W39cm x D15cm.

Fully glazed, complete with all glass shelves. Great condition. Measures approx: H85cm x W36cm x D9cm (shelf width approx 6.5cm) Note: from an incredible large private collection of 00 gauge model rail locomotives. All locomotives were only ever displayed, never run. They were purchased new, removed from their boxes and displayed in wall mountable cabinets. As such, condition on all is 'as new' (whether boxed or not). Buyers are reminded for the need to satisfy themselves as to condition of individual lots prior to bidding - irrespective of description - as condition on some, may vary. All models are generally mint. An incredible collection.
