In the sophisticated Federal style, the armoire features string inlay, brass ball feet, beautifully figured mahogany, and a central pictorial inlay portraying the Federal eagle. Eagles featured on American Federal furniture were likely inspired by the Great Seal of America, adopted in 1782.
