A Victorian grey veined carrara marble fireplace with serpentine shaped shelf above a pair of plain uprights and conforming frieze with oval tablet, 133cm wide; another grey veined carrara marble fireplace with rectangular shelf, plain uprights and scrolling corbels, 160cm wide, both 19th Century (faults and possible losses)
A Queen Anne oak court cupboard, dated 1705, of typical construction with series of cupboards and raised on stile feet. Height 168.5 cm, depth 55 cm, width 186 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The top boards and edge moulding are in good order with only minor surface scuffs. The edge moulding is certainly later the cupboard probably having been built in. The piece is structurally very sound. There is no evidence of any woodworm. The wooden knob handles and locks to the upper doors are later. The shelf across the front beneath the turned end supports is a Victorian replacement. The backboards are original as are the side panels. The cupboard doors are flat and not warped and in generally good condition. The wooden knob handles and locks are later. The interior shelf boards are original. The centre drawer has a replacement top panel which looks a little different in colour. The stile feet are tall and in generally good condition.
An antique oak court cupboard, with Westmorland scroll carving, with date to frieze 1572, with some alterations. Width 151 cm. CONDITION REPORT: In our opinion this is a late 17th/early 18th century court cupboard that has been later carved but quite at what age is impossible to tell. The 1572 date is definitely later. The moulded cornice is a Victorian addition. All of the front and side panels are period. The piece comes into two sections and the front shelf is original. The back boards and interior shelves look to be 19th century and are certainly not period planks. The piece of furniture has come from a very good home and is in very good condition. It is perfectly attractive and requires no restoration work but is not a full period piece.
A Bevan Funnell mahogany bookcase, with cupboard beneath. Width 83.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Generally very good order with no significant issues. There is a very small veneer loss to the upper left hand side of the middle shelf support but other than this the item is ready to use or be re-sold.
A late 19th/early 20th century side cabinet by Jas. Schoolbred, with moulded dentil cornice above a pair of glazed doors with wooden astragals, the base with bowfront fitted with two drawers with brass knob handles and raised on splayed bracket feet united by a low shelf, all embellished with floral marquetry. Width 85 cm.
A Victorian rosewood chiffonier, with shelved superstructure, the base with frieze drawer above a pair of panelled cupboard doors, with plinth base and turned feet beneath. Width 93 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The chiffonier is in generally good condition. The piece is structurally solid. The rear fretwork upstand has one small fracture. The left hand top turned finial is loose. The second shelf rear upstand has several breaks and a few minor losses but no significant issues. The third shelf upstand is in good order. The shelves are in good condition as is the top of the base. The drawer is in good condition as are the cupboard doors which are not warped. The sides of the piece are in good condition and the feet original. There is no evidence of any woodworm.
A George III mahogany wall mounting open shelf unit, with fretwork pediment and three shelves. Width 62 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This piece is in generally good condition. The only minor problem is that the top right hand corner has the front and return sections of moulding missing. There are also old minor fractures across some of the fretwork on the right hand side but no missing sections or losses. The fretwork scrolls to left and right at the base are all present with some cracks and stress marks visible but no losses. The piece is of generally very good colour and original patination.
An Edwardian inlaid mahogany shaving stand, the oval mirror with adjustable brass column support to the galleried top, with drawer, cupboard and shelf below. Width 53 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The mirror itself is showing signs of slight perishing but is generally perfectly serviceable. The mirror frame is in good order. The brass support has lost much of its original lacquer. The cabinet itself is in very good condition with only minor scuffs and marks commensurate with the age of the piece.
An Edwardian rosewood twin drop flap side table, of butterfly wing design, with single frieze drawer, low shelf and raised on castors. Width open 90 cm, closed 45 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table is in generally good original condition. The top is generally flat and the leaves only very slightly but not significantly warped. The marquetry is flat and intact and there is only one very small loss of about 1 cm to one section of boxwood stringing. There is a small timber chip to the inside top edge of one flap which would benefit from staining as it is currently visible with the flaps down. The drawer operates as it should and is in good condition. The four legs are in good order as is the shelf. The left hand gallery has six up right spindles missing. The castors are original.
