A Victorian mahogany washstand, with marble upstand and top, fitted with two drawers with cupboards beneath and with plinth base. Width 110 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The rear upstand and shelf are in good order. The top left hand gallery return has a full height break running from the top of the second step (half way up) down to the base. The crack is clearly visible. The remainder of the top is in generally good with only minor surface scuffs and scratches as one would expect. The cupboard beneath is structurally sound. There are old scuffs and marks to the timber but no significant issues. The piece is structurally sound. The drawers run smoothly. There are no significant cracks to the doors. The doors are not warped. The door is actually locked and we do not have a key. There are some minor scuffs and nibbles to the veneers around the plinth has. We can see no evidence of any woodworm.
A mahogany low open bookcase, fitted with two drawers above open shelves and raised on splayed feet. Width 110 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Depth 27 cm, height just under 75 cm. The bookcase is structurally sound with no loose joints. The top surface is in generally good condition with only minor surface scratches and polish deterioration. Both drawers run smoothly and the handles are original. The shelf surfaces are scratched in places. Both side panels have some minor marks and scratches. The left hand bracket feet are in good order with no issues other than surface marks and scratches. The front right hand bracket foot has slightly shrunk away from the front skirt leaving a small gap. The rear right hand bracket foot has a loss to the front edge between the two feet. This is in our opinion a very minor issue.
A late 19th century bamboo and lacquered cabinet, with shelved and mirrored superstructure, the base with glazed doors enclosing shelves and raised on splayed feet. Width 102 cm, depth 56 cm, height 196 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cabinet is structurally sound and does not appear to have any new elements. The mirror plate is in good order. The superstructure is also sound with no significant issues. The lacquered panels are all in reasonably good order. There is some deterioration to the lacquer work but no major issues. The second mirror is in good order also with only minor perishing to the silvering. The top of the base does have some issues. The right hand side is in generally good order but there are some scuffs and losses to the centre of the top below the mirror and moving towards the front. The lacquer to the left hand side of this is also discoloured and the gilding rubbed and faded. The left hand side panel is in good order. The right hand side panel has fading to the lacquer and some rubbing to the gilding. All of the bamboo is a little marked and scratched as one can see from our images. The shelf surfaces are in reasonably good order. There are some scuffs to the top two shelves surfaces. The bottom shelf has more major scuffing and marking.
A Victorian mahogany chiffonier, with shelved back and scroll supports, the base with drawer and panelled cupboard doors raised on a plinth. Width 100 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The chiffonier is in generally good condition. The three quarter gallery has a very tiny nibble to the top right hand rear corner. The shelf is in good condition as are the scroll supports. The top is a good colour and there are no splits. The frieze drawer runs smoothly and there are no issues. The door panels are not warped. The doors meet correctly in the centre. There are some minor stress fractures around the door frames which should be visible on our website image. These are to the centre right of the left panel and centre left of the right panel. The sides of the piece are in good order as is the plinth. The backboards are original.
A Liberty & Co. style occasional table, oak, hexagonal and in the Moorish style. Width 45 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table is in generally good order. It is structurally sound. The top has no significant issues and minor surface marks as one would expect. The frieze is in good condition all around. There are no repairs to any of the legs. The lower shelf has one small stress fracture. It is however flat with no warping. There are three woodworm holes to the very bottom of one leg. In our opinion this as long gone but a squirt of woodworm solution would probably be sensible.
