Contemporary calf-backed marbled boards, spines gilt with red morocco lettering-pieces (rubbed, some erosion to head of spine of vol. III). Provenance: Chateau du Chillon. Bibliotheque (old armorial labels); old library shelf labels at head of each spine. A very pleasing set, with an impeccable Swiss provenance, in original condition. (3)

Containing a red and black horsehair plume for a Trooper`s helmet of the 3rd Dragoon Guards, a large number of mainly livery crested buttons, a fighting-knife with finely-chequered wooden grip, a Napoleonic Eagle 4 ¾ in. x 5in. in cast metal, a quantity of fine gilt studs for an officer`s mess jacket, and a large number of miscellaneous items. Together with an oval white china dish by Thos Goode & Co, with green border and bearing the device of the 17th Bengal Cavalry; and another plate, depicting Lord Roberts (qty)

IMPRESSIVE VICTORIAN CARVED POLLARD OAK MIRROR BACK SIDEBOARD, the bevel edged, arch topped mirrored plate in a parcel gilt slip and moulded show wood frame, with oak leaf and cabochon cresting, supporting an oblong shelf with heavy scroll supports, the advanced lower section with inverted breakfront top and central frieze drawer with open shelf under, flanked by a pair of heavy moulded cupboard doors with central black veined marble circular medallions and chamferred corners raised on a conforming plinth base, 101 1/4"" (255cm) high, 91"" (233cm) wide, 29"" (73.7cm) deep (ON VIEW IN GROUND FLOOR SALEROOM)
A 16th Century Flemish Carved Oak Buffet. The rectangular moulded top above two arcaded cupboard doors relief carved with St Peter & St Paul flanking a further saint standing in a small centre panel. The frieze drawer below enriched with zoomorphic scrolls of foliage and centred by a face mask bearing an iron swing handle in its mouth. The uprights and turned front posts adorned with bold split spindle appliqués, with a panelled back leading down to a base shelf with nulled rail, 54½ ins (139 cms) high, 44 ins (112 cms) wide, 19 ins (48 cms) deep.
A Tall French Gothic Style Carved Oak Dressoir. The top having a pierced tracery canopy flanked by spired finials overhanging four carved panels of Gothic tracery and a box compartment enclosed behind sliding facades. The cupboard doors enriched with further tracery and hung on decoratively pierced strap hinges with ornate iron lock-plates incorporating scrolling serpent form hasps, above two frieze drawers and a linen fold panelled back with base shelf below, 98 ins (249 cms) high, 42 ins (107 cms) wide, 19 ins (48 cms) deep.
A Fine Quality 17th Century Carved Oak Full Tester Bed of good colour & patination. The panelled tester resting on an arcaded headboard and bulbous foot posts. The headboard having two recessed panels above a candle-shelf, richly carved with arabesque strapwork, flowering plants and winged beasts with caryatids adorning the muntins. The foot posts having columnar upper sections crowned by scrolling capitals, enriched with intricate guilloche strapwork entwined around wrythen rosettes above gadrooned cup & cover bulbs rising from carved square block base sections. 79 ins (201 cms) high, 87 ins (221 cms) long, 59 ins (150 cms) wide.

Puginesque style Oak mirror back Sideboard, cruciform carved top rail over rectangular mirror with shelf over triple panel back-board, the whole back in stop chamfered frame with geometric line carving and triangular motifs, the base having similar carving to the edges, three single arch topped panel doors with carved detail, standing on a shaped plinth base. 71" wide x 77" high x 25 1/4" deep
