A Regency figured mahogany secretaire/chiffonier, the upper section fitted with a gilt gallery above a single shelf, the frieze with leather lined writing surface and pigeon holes, with a pair of pleated silk and gilt grille panels flanked by plain columns, raised on turned supports, 94cm (37in)
A circa 1900 English Arts & Crafts oak dresser retailed through Liberty & Co of London. The upper cabinet having a single door cupboard with bullion glass detail door aside an open shelf supported by turned panels, the whole raised to a flared top base with dog kennel aperture and double door cupboard falling to stile feet. The whole detailed with applied decorative wrought iron furniture, retains label to the inside drawer lining, 183cm wide by 186cm high.

A mid 19th century Italian carved walnut writing desk on stand, in the manner of Luigi Frullini, the putti mounted raised back to a fall enclosing three drawers to a further sloping fall, decorated putti flanking a central shield to foliage revealing a shelf flanked by griffin supports the carved edge base above a frieze drawer to conforming apron, the turned and carved legs united by an oak stretcher with a central mask finial, 53.5in (136cm) h, 33.75in (86cm) w, 16in (40.5cm) d.

* GWR Ivorine Signal Box Instrument/Shelf Plate CHURCHDOWN RELIEF LINES. Approximately 4¾" x 1½" in excellent condition. Churchdown was just north of Gloucester on the line to Cheltenham, the relief lines were completed in wartime 1942 using the LNER practice of taking the lines on the outside of the platforms.

Note: Dibdin I p. 322, Brunet II 1012 Includes a preface by Daniel Heinsius who first planned this edition and Elichmannus, Iohannes. Tabula Cebetis graece, arabice, latine item Aurea carmina Pythagorae, cum paraphrase Arabic … cum praefatione Cl. Salmasii. Provenance: From the library of Chrétien François De Lamoignon (1735-1789), bound in his characteristic style, with his label Bibliotheca Lamoniana V 60, his ink stamp and his shelf-marks 2K 59 6060 in manuscript (with the 59 and first 60 crossed through) on the front flyleaf and the shelf-mark tooled in the bottom panel of the spine. Lamoignon was one of the earliest collectors to regularly tool the date of publication at the foot of the spine with his shelf-marks. His library was bought by Thomas Payne, who issued a catalogue of it in 1793.
