Art Nouveau exhibition quality console or dressing table, the superstructure with whiplash cresting and central bevelled rectangular mirror plate flanked by canted pilasters and monumental carved flowering plants and embossed brass roundels of galleons, above inverted breakfront shelf and marble top, the shaped central recess within gilt metal acanthus and scroll mounts and between tapering uprights headed by gilt metal terms on plinth base, 157cm x 52cm x 287cm highThere are losses to the brass work, and while we have some loose pieces , we do not appear to have all of them.There are some small losses to the wood on the Art-Nouveau side panels, the brass roundels also have some dents. Some chips and nibbles to the marble top. Around the base there are some loose panels which should fit back on. It appears the item has been stored in an out building and the finish is a little grubby and would benefit from a clean and a polish. There are some signs of worm and the base appears to have been on a stone/damp floor. A lot of scuffs to all the woodwork and most joints have opened a little. Structurally sound. The mark to the plate mirror in the image is a reflection of the white paper.The base section with the pillars measure 160cm wide, 48cm deep and 152cm high. The panels measure 43cm wide and 113cm high. The mirror section measures 79cm wide and 187cm high.The marble is fixed. The top sections all just sit on the base using pegs.
