A mahogany break-front bookcase of Georgian design with deep moulded cornice, the frieze applied with three plaques lettered "K", "L" and "M", the centre fitted open shelf, cupboard under above pull-out leather lined writing surface and cupboard enclosed by two pairs of doors with brass grilles and rose pleated cloth panels, flanked by open shelves with twenty adjustable shelves and cupboards to base enclosed by four conforming doors, 136ins wide x 17ins deep x 104ins high Note: Thought to have been re-modelled from a George IV mahogany bookcase by George Trollope of Parliament Street, London (recorded working as a Cabinetmaker and Upholsterer 1820-1839 - one section stamped with makers mark to back) Provenance: Thought to have been removed from Torry Hill, Kingsdown, Sittingbourne, Kent (The family home of Robin Leigh-Pemberton, Baron Kingsdown) and subsequently installed at The Old Rectory, Milstead, Sittinbourne, Kent.
