A 19th century rosewood breakfront chiffonier, having a mirrored back above two pairs of panel doors, one door bears a stamp 'GILLOWS', 183 cm wide Condition report Report by GH Right hand door doesn't fit very well. The unfinished nature of the door panel, suggests that they probably had fabric sections, all similar, which are no longer there. The condition of the top service generally quite water stained, scratched and faded in places. Mirror back and super-structure generally quite loose. Various signs of old wood worm in places, but no obvious active worm. Middle cupboard has one adjustable shelf and the other cupboards only have three shelves between them, Also the left door panel is cracked and there are various other age related marks and small chips and scratches to veneer all over. The right hand side of the piece has a crack going all the way down and some screw holes. There is a strong possibility that this is a made up piece of furniture and not made by Gillows.
