Lot 1110

A late 19th/early 20th century Adam style gilt framed mirror, with urn and bellflower motif to the arch, with rectangular mirror beneath flanked by moulded bellflower ornament. Height 115 cm, width 61 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The frame is softwood with gesso and gilding over. As you will see form our image there are losses to the gesso - top right hand corner beneath the arch. There is also a loss to the bellflower moulding to the left of the swag on the vase. The main mirror frame has some minor nibbles to the gilding and gesso. There is a loss to the bottom right hand moulding. The shelf surround again has small losses to the giltwood and gesso. The bottom of the shelf bracket is missing moulding all the way round. There are further nibbles to the gilding and gesso. The left hand side bottom edge of the mirror is missing some moulding. This is partially missing on the right hand side and would be probably be best removed to match up. The mirror plates is in generally good order with only minor blemishes.

Lot 1543

A Victorian mahogany bookcase on cupboard in two sections, the top half with a moulded cornice above a pair of arched glazed doors enclosing shelves flanked by foliate corbels, the base fitted with two drawers with centre tablet and with pair of well figured panelled cupboard doors beneath with shelf and plinth base. Width 130 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Depth of base at deepest point 49 cm. Height of base 86 cm. Width of base 127 cm.

Lot 1101

A Victorian mahogany framed shop display cabinet, bowfronted with rear opening door. Height 74 cm, width 48 cm, depth 51 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cabinet is in generally good order. It is structurally very sound. All glass panels are in good condition with no cracks. We can see no evidence of any repairs or restoration. There is no evidence of any woodworm. The colour is generally uniform. There is no glass shelf although the supports are present. The door closes as it should and is not warped. The hinges are original.

Lot 1162

An Art Deco walnut veneered cocktail cabinet, with carved moulded edge and fitted with a series of drawers and cupboards. Height 121 cm, width 136 cm, depth 38 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The height of glass shelves is top 30 cm, middle 31 cm, bottom 30.5 cm. the depth is 31 cm and the width 30.5 cm. There is a single half depth shelf in the centre section - height from base to bottom edge 36 cm, height from top of shelf to top of cabinet 30 cm.

Lot 1505

A Victorian mahogany shop display cabinet, with four turned finials, glazed and mirrored upper section and raised on turned legs with stretchers. Height 141 cm, width 46 cm, depth 46 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cabinet is in good original condition. The rear right hand finial may possibly be a replacement. It is a slightly different colour and slightly less well turned than the other three. The framework to the upper section is in good order all round and clearly original. The doors are not warped. There are no cracks to the glazing. There are some nibbles to the corners and edge of the plate glass shelf. The mirrored plate beneath has some signs of perishing and again minor edge nibbles. The base is in good original order with no significant issues. We can see no evidence of any woodworm.

A late 19th/early 20th century Arts & Crafts hanging cupboard, with arched top and shelf above a pair of doors opening to a shelved interior. Height 85.5 cm, width 53.5 cm, depth 12 cm.

A small oak hanging corner cupboard, with carved panelled door opening to a shaped shelf. Height 58 cm, width 51 cm, depth 30 cm.

Lot 1159

An antique elm dresser, with moulded edge and fitted with a series of drawers and cupboards raised on bracket feet. Height 78 cm, width 130 cm, depth 49 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The dresser base is in extremely good order. It is a good colour. The top is flat with no losses or any significant scuffs or marks. The moulded edge is in good condition all round. All drawer fronts are in good order. The handles appear to be original as are the lock escutcheons. Both doors close as they should. They are not warped. The bracket feet are in good order all round. We can see no evidence of any woodworm. Both door locks are present. We have the key which also operates the drawer locks. There is a half shelf behind the left hand cupboard door. There is no shelf in the right hand cupboard, but supports for one are present.

Lot 1143

A 17th century inlaid oak court cupboard dated 1621, with moulded cornice above a carved frieze and three panelled doors above an original shelf and with a series of cupboards beneath. Height 180 cm, width 200 cm, depth 62 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The cupboard requires restoration. The cornice is probably later. The piece will originally have been built-in. The carved frieze is in good order. The cupboard doors are all loose on their hinges and there are losses to the inlays. There is evidence of old woodworm to the interior of the upper section. The boards are all undulating to the inside. The front shelf is loose and has stress fractures. It is however all present. The panelled doors are all original and in generally good condition. There is movement at the hinges. The hinges are old but clearly not original. The interior of the piece is very tired. There is a lot of old woodworm damage. This is particularly evident at the back of the piece where the bottom rear stretcher has disintegrated. The panels are all loose.

A mahogany Arts and Crafts book trough and combined shelf unit, with pegged brackets. Height 94 cm, width 61 cm, depth 33 cm.

Lot 1362

A Victorian walnut three tier graduated whatnot stand and combined cupboard, inlaid and well figured and raised on short turned legs terminating in castors. Maximum width 81 cm, height 46 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The height of the lot should read 146 cm. The maximum width is +/- 81 cm. The maximum depth is +/- 60 cm. The side depths are top tier 36 cm, 2nd tier 43 cm, 3rd tier 51 cm, bottom tier 56 cm. Top shelf depth from the front of the rear turning to front shelf edge 30.5 cm, shelf two 38 cm, shelf three 45 cm, lower tier 51 cm. the condition of the piece is generally extremely good. There are no losses to the fretwork. The colour is good. The veneers are in generally good condition with no significant staining or lifting. The door is not warped. We have the lock and key. The lock is a little stiff. The legs are in good order and the castors are original. All turned supports are in good order. We can see no evidence of any woodworm.

Lot 1453

An Art Deco walnut bureau cabinet, with bureau drawer, cupboard and shelves. Height 111.5 cm, width 91 cm, depth 26 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cabinet is structurally sound and free from woodworm. The top surfaces are in generally good order with only very minor polish deterioration and slight scratches. There are nibbles to the veneers around the lock escutcheon. The slope front operates as it should. The interior is all present. None of the doors are warped. There are some scratches and scuffs to the insides of the shelf apertures. The base is in good condition all round.

Lot 1181

A Victorian walnut three tier whatnot stand, with fretwork gallery and single drawer raised on short turned legs terminating in brass castors. Stamped J Winter Wardour Street, London. Width 53 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Height including fretwork gallery 107 cm. Height excluding gallery 99 cm. Depth 40 cm. The whatnot is structurally sound. The gallery is in good condition all round. The top has some old surface scratches and marks but no significant issues. It is not split. The ball turned spindles are in good order. There is some minor veneer rippling on the middle shelf top. The drawer runs smoothly. The handles are original. The feet are in good order and the castors original also.

Lot 1360

An Edwardian foliate marquetry square envelope card table, with single drawer and raised on tapered legs united by a raised shelf. Width 54.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table is a little tired generally. All flaps slope slightly downwards and there is some movement at the hinges. The green baize is in poor condition. The veneered surround has stress fractures and veneer losses. The peg that lifts the first flap is missing. The flaps when viewed from above are in generally good order although there has been some shrinkage between the flaps. The frieze is in good condition all round. The drawer runs smoothly. The legs are all a little scuffed and marked. The centre shelf is loose. One stretcher has separated from one leg.
