Trollope (Anthony) Ayala's Angel, 3 vol., first edition in book form, light browning to titles, vol. 2 title chipped at head, hinges a little cracked or tender with a few gatherings pulling, bookplate of Morris Parrish to pastedowns, original orange cloth blocked in black and lettered in gilt, sunning to spines, slight shelf-lean, light soiling or marking to covers, rubbing to extremities but a very good set overall, [Sadleir 60], 8vo, Chapman and Hall, 1881.⁂ A scarce later title by Trollope, especially difficult to find in good condition as many copies of the first edition ended up in lending libraries.

Stoker (Bram) Dracula, eighth edition, ink ownership and gift inscriptions to endpapers, occasional light foxing or marginal finger-soiling, original navy cloth lettered in gilt design in red to upper cover, slight shelf-lean, spine ends and corners a little bumped, light rubbing, but a very good and bright example, 8vo, Archibald Constable, 1904.
Sensation novel by a suffragette.- [Baillie-Weaver (Gertrude)], "G. Colmore". A Daughter of Music, 3 vol., first edition, half-titles, vol. 1 with 20pp. advertisements dated March 1894, light browning to endpapers, original pictorial cloth, slight shelf-lean, light toning to spines, slight bumping to spine ends and corners, a bright and excellent set otherwise, [not in Sadleir or Wolff], 8vo, William Heinemann, 1894.⁂ An exceptional copy of this rare sensation novel involving a curse that manifests through music. Baillie-Weaver (1855-1926) is now best remembered for her 1911 novel Suffragette Sally as well as her 1913 The Life of Emily Davison.

The Fixed Period is especially unusual being his only attempt at futurist dystopian fiction.

[The Chronicles of Narnia], 7 vol., first editions, comprising The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, ink ownership inscription and light browning to endpaper, newspaper clipping loosely inserted, sunning to spine along with upper and lower edges, jacket price-clipped, light toning to spine, chipping to head touching titling at head of spine and upper panel, 2 short tears to foot, a few light patches of soiling, 1950; Prince Caspian, slight shelf-lean, jacket with light toning to spine, spine ends and corners a little chipped, a few short closed tears with some creasing to head and foot, 1951; The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, slight browning to spine tips, minor chipping to spine ends and corners, closed tear to head of rear panel, a few short nicks to head and foot with light creasing,1952; The Silver Chair, light browning to front endpapers, jacket with light toning to spine, minor chipping to spine ends and corners, 2 short closed tears to head of upper panel, a few short nicks to head and foot with light creasing, 1953; The Horse and his Boy, light browning to endpapers, light sunning to spine of jacket and boards, spine ends and corners a little chipped, light soiling to lower panel, a few short tears to head with creasing, light rubbing to extremities, 1954; The Magician's Nephew, jacket with light rubbing to tips of spine and corners, very short closed tear to head of upper panel with light creasing, 1955; The Last Battle, jacket with light browning to spine and rear panel, rubbing to tips of spine and corners, 1956, plates, illustrations and maps by Pauline Baynes, including colour where called for, original boards, dust-jackets, 8vo⁂ A sharp and excellent set of C. S. Lewis' classic children series.
Dickens (Charles) Oliver Twist, 3 vol., third edition, etched frontispieces and 19 plates only by George Cruikshank (of 21 with 1 plate in vol. 1 duplicated), some light offsetting and occasional spotting, original green cloth, slight shelf-lean, spine ends and corners a little bumped, light rubbing to extremities, but an excellent set overall, [Smith I, p.37], 8vo, Chapman and Hall, 1841.⁂ The last of the three volume editions and the first to contain Dickens' Introduction.
Trollope (Anthony) The Prime Minister, first edition, in original 8 parts, advertisements, Sadleir's Issue B, Style i in original brown cloth stamped in blind, spines lettered in gilt, some slight shelf-lean, spines a little darkened, spine ends and corners bumped, rubbing to extremities, original wrappers bound in as issued, [Sadleir 45], 8vo, Chapman and Hall, 1876.⁂ Scarce in the original parts. The longer parts were issued in part due to public exhaustion with the shorter slim instalments. The Prime Minister was issued simultaneously in the cloth and wrappered issues, the former were likely created to cope with the wear-and-tear of circulating libraries or similar.

Chinese carved hardwood overmantel, circa 1900, with dragon-carved pediment over shelf and six rectangular apertures bordered by prunus, with foliate scroll apron, 92cm wide x 56cm high, (to rebuild)Condition report: Lacking dowel pegs which would allow shelf and pediment to affix to frame. Two slots to sides of shelf which do not match up with pediment, so may have missing parts. Very minor warping to apron.
