A Small 17th Century Spanish Provincial Food Cupboard. The door on iron strap hinges having an upper ventilated panel of four baluster turned spindles above a fielded panel below with stepped edge moulding and a decorative iron escutcheon. The interior fitted with a shelf. The sides quartered by framework into four moulded panels, 35¾ ins (91 cms) high, 22 ins (56 cms) wide and 19¾ ins (50 cms) deep.
An Oak Fire Surround in the Laudian style decorated with jewelled strap-work and ornamental appliqués and incorporating three panels of canvas to the mantel painted in oils with further strap-work. The stop-fluted uprights having Ionic scroll capitals bearing a shallow mantel shelf. 84 ins x 80 ins (214 cms x 203 cms), aperture measurement; 54 ins x 59 ins (137 cms x 150 cms).
A Rare 15th Century Gothic Carved Oak Dressoir. The top section having an ornamental pierced cresting rail flanked by charming dragon finials above three carved tracery panels. The box shelf beneath having two carved sliding panels. The middle section having panelled canted corners flanking a central cupboard door intricately carved with tracery, vine leaves and grapes. The linen-fold panel sides above a lower section with a carved frieze drawer and triple linen-fold backboard adjoining the moulded solid base shelf raised on block feet. 90½ ins (230 cms) high, 35½ ins (90 cms) wide, 18 ins (46 cms) depth.
A Fine Late 16th Century Gothic/Early Renaissance Carved Oak Dressoir. The moulded top above a pair of cupboard panel doors on decorative strap hinges flanking a centre panel; each panel centred by a Romayne head amidst scrolling foliage, with linen fold panels to the sides, heavily moulded framework and two frieze drawers below. The drawers carved with grotesques bearing the ring handles in their mouths flanked by lavish scrolls of foliage above a scalloped under-edge of overlapped petals centred by a pendant finial. The carved baluster legs leading down to an pot shelf below on a shaped rail and stile feet, 59 ins (150 cms) high, 50½ ins (128 cms) wide, 20½ ins (52 cms) deep.[A very similar example circa 1540 can be seen in Encyclopedia of Furniture by H. Schmitz, Ernest Benn Publ. 1926]
A Fine 19th Century Gothic Revival Oak Cabinet in the form of a dome-topped chest on stand. The dome top profusely carved with rich Gothic tracery panels divided by long pierced fret-work iron straps. The large shaped lock plate and clasp above a small central panel deeply carved with a chalice issuing berries and cascading vines; the flanking panels displaying detailed Gothic tracery arches. The hinged fall-front dropping down to reveal three long carved drawers with twisted iron hoop handles and the leather writing panel accommodated within. The stand having a small drawer with similarly carved tracery and octagonal column legs with shaped corner brackets above an open lower shelf. 63 ins (160 cms) high, 43 ins (110 cms) wide, 17¾ ins (45 cms) deep.
A Fabulous Spanish Polychromed Shrine Cabinet Circa 1530. The top tapered & sloped down to the back with a moulded edge above two doors ornamented with relief moulded gesso-work armorial motifs & scrolling thistles enriched with gilding on a Prussian blue ground. The interior having an arcaded shelf with pierced & gilded tracery arches on shaped pillars flanked by half columns to the sides. The back painted with gold stars on a deep blue ground, with saints to the twin inner-door panels. The canted sides painted with further armorial crests and scrolling banners. The cabinet raised on the backs of two carved & gilded lions passant regardant, on a moulded breakfront base, 58 ins (147 cms) high, 27 ins (69 cms) wide, 20 ins (51 cms) deep.
A Small 17th Century Oak Court Cupboard. The two plank top above a moulded cornice and arcaded frieze flanked by two ball turned pendant finials. The two recessed cupboard doors with dog tooth inlaid marquetry bordering carved floral panels with applied dentil moulding. The central arch panel flanked by split turned spindle appliqués. The lower section having an arcaded frieze above two column turned legs and open back shelf. Measuring 43 ins (109 cms) in height, 49 ins (124 cms) width, 22½ ins (57 cms) depth.
A Marquetried Oak Buffet, dated 1637 and initialled A.M. The planked top above a carved frieze of strap-work S- scrolls and bevelled baguette appliqués adorning the sides, raised on marrow turned front columns with ebonised split-spindle ornaments to the rear stiles. The middle section drawer having two long geometric inlaid panels flanked by two protruding lion masks above a band of gouge carving incorporating the initials A.M. and date 1637 . The turned legs above a base shelf with dog tooth inlay. 47¾ ins (121 cms) high, 45 ins (114 cms) wide, 16½ ins (42 cms) deep.
A Fabulous 17th Century Carved & Inlaid Canted Court Cupboard. The top having a moulded edge above a frieze carved with a row of coiled C-scrolls encompassing flower heads and have applied 'corbels' heading the unusual ring-turned quadruple column supports. The recessed cupboard with sunken panel door in a gadrooned frame flanked by canted side panels marquetried with urns of flowers, guilloche & chequered bands within carved surrounds of undulating foliage. The base section with a frieze drawer of lavishly scrolling foliate carving raised on further quadruple column supports leading down to a planked under-shelf on a parquetry base rail and square block feet, 42½ ins (108 cms) high, 42 ins (107 cms) wide, 18½ ins (47 cms) deep.
A Late 16th/Early 17th Century Marquetry Oak Court Cupboard. The edge-moulded top on iron hinges rising to reveal a box compartment enclosed behind the frieze. The marquetry front & side frieze panels inlaid with birds amidst flowers, divided by protruding carved lion heads and raised on two bulbous gadrooned cup & cover supports. The canted upper cupboard having a similarly marquetried centre door flanked by palmate uprights and arabesque strap-work side panels in channel moulded frames enhanced with dogtooth inlay. The heavily gadrooned drawer below supported on further cup & cover bulbous posts leading down to a pot shelf base. 50½ ins (128 cms) high, 50½ ins (128 cms) wide, 19½ ins (50 cms) deep.
A mahogany carver armchair with pierced shield shaped splat back and inset seat, a small oak hanging wall shelf, a mahogany double bed head, a needlework basket and stand, a pine floor standing bookcase, 35" wide x 52" high, a crewel work embroidery of flowering branches and a further crewel work embroidered fire screen.
