An Unusual 17th Century Carved Oak Three-part Buffet with secret cupboard. The twin planked top above a frieze compartment with guilloche carving to the top rail and three front panels of carved foliated lunettes divided by palmate `corbels`. The side panels forming the cupboard doors; the left door secured by a an interior catch; the right one having a lock with one of the corbels sliding back to reveal the keyhole. The cupboard raised on carved cup & cover front posts and plain stiles to the rear leading down to a mid shelf with nulled rails and a base shelf with marquetried rails of chevron bands, 44 ins (112 cms) high, 49½ ins (126 cms) wide, 18 ins (46 cms) deep.

The lower enclosed shelf fronted by similarly turned columns, raised on block feet 72 ins (183 cms) in height, 32½ ins (82.5 cms) in width, 40 ins (16 cms) in depth.
