A French brass cased table top display case in the Rococo manner with glazed side panels, a mahogany metronome bearing label for Maelzel to front and stamped to interior "J Wagner a Paris", and a miniature brass cased carriage clock CONDITION REPORTS Table top display case has seurface scratches, some glue like residue etc. to the glass, some signs of oxidisation/patternation to the metal. Back right hand foot is slightly lower and the bottom internal shelf appears to be slightly askew - see images for further explanation. Metronome base is missing, the brass label is samsaged and the metronome itslef does not appear to be in working order although moves backwards and forward. Weight possible replacement. Has surface scratches etc and damage throughout. Brass miniature carriage clock - unknown if in working order, has surface scratches, patination etc. to the metalwork and glass. Appears to be dated underneath 24/3/72 and stamped 21. All items have general wear and tear conducive with age and use - see images for further details.
A circa 1900 carved oak two door hanging wall cupboard with shelf CONDITION REPORTS Overall condition good though with some areas of white paint to the rear edges where obviously the piece has failed to be removed from a wall at time of painting. Some colour variations between the wood in certain areas - to the top, cornice and base though perhaps to be expected. A small piece of moulding to the left door top above the carved area or above the carved panel, is missing. Lock to right hand door is missing. Upon opening doors some sign of old worm to the left hand door top right (from interior). Back panel with split. One shelf missing. Split above the hinge to right hand door top. Panel above lower shelf with large split almost all the way across from left towards centre and smaller split bottom right corner. Right door with some signs of paint lower right. Perhaps in need of sympathetic restoration. Size 56 cm wide x18.2 cm deep x 58 cm high.
An early 20th Century burr yew bookcase cabinet in the Biedermeier style, the central glazed door enclosing adjustable shelving and two drawers flanked by two cupboard doors enclosing adjustable shelving, raised on square tapering legs to brass feet CONDITION REPORTS Has wear and tear, chips etc, scrapes to the veneer and in need of a good clean. Some of the shelves are slightly lowed, shelf depth is 37 cm. The depth of cupboard is approx 50 cm. Height is approx 221 cm x 182 cm in width
A cast iron fireplace the design attributed to Charles Robert Ashbee and made at the Guild of Handicrafts, cast with a frieze of Art Nouveau tulip flowers, flanked with cast dove corbels supporting a shelf, the upper section with similar cast doves and central copper mounted circular mirror, with fire basket, 202cm. high. Literature Style & Spirit Paul Reeves & the House Beautiful, Christie's South Kensington, 12th June 2013, lot 627 for an identical fireplace illustrated. The Best of British Designs from the 19th and 20th Century, Paul Reeves/Sotheby's selling exhibition,14-20 March 2008 page 118 catalogue number PR98 for a comparable fireplace.
A late 19th century walnut mirror door wardrobe with single internal shelf above hanging space with rail and two pegs, with shaped apron and raised on short cabriole legs to pad feet, width 76.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Height 196cm, scratches throughout, particularly to base, chips to veneer, particularly to left side front, further crazing/thin cracks to veneer.
An Arts and Crafts oak dresser with boarded two shelf plate rack, two drawers above central potboard section flanked by cupboard doors, on four stretchered supports, length 183cm, height of top 98.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are no apparent markings on this item. Total height is 198.5cm, width 93cm, depth 30cm.
