The Appendix relates the case of the Hon. Horace Walpole, younger brother of Sir Robert Walpole and uncle of Horace Walpole of Strawberry Hill.

Lot 2060

A pair of brass and mahogany library standard lamps, with integral shelf and adjustable arm, height to bayonet fitting 140cmCables have been cut so we are unable to test these lamps. One of the lamps has soldered repair to arm where it meets the lightbulb holder which is clearly visible. Some surface scratching and wear to brass mounts and circular trays. Both slightly uneven when sat on the floor. These are probably mid-century. Both need rewiring.

The yellowing is not part of the natural finish of the marble. There appear to be some filled gaps and small cracks in the marble. Stand is in good overall condition with some surface scratches and wear. Would benefit from clean and polish.
