A set of 'Chinese Chippendale' giltwood and mahogany hanging wall shelves, with a carved leaf and fretwork surmount with an acorn finial above three tiers with pierced fretwork galleries and ends, inscribed '4305A', possibly 18th century, 142cm high, 79.3cm wide, 18.5cm deep. The leaf pediment corresponds to that of a 'China Shelf' pattern in Thomas Chippendale's 'The Gentleman and Cabinet-Maker's Director', 1754, pl. 119 . Provenance: Miss Julia Lowenthal,,Christie's, London,10th March 2005, lot 125.
An early George III mahogany kneehole desk, the crossbanded top with a moulded edge and canted corners above a brushing slide and an arrangement of eight drawers and with a central cupboard door enclosing a shelf, flanked by fluted pilasters on ogee bracket feet, 88.8cm high, 97cm wide, 58.5cm deep.
