A Regency mahogany secretaire bookcase, circa 1815, the fall front secretaire drawer opening to a fitted interior incorporating pigeon holes, small cupboards and an inset writing surface, 241cm high, 97cm wide, 47cm deepCondition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions, consistent with age and use,Some old chips and losses, old splits and cracks, The leather inset is later, this hides the rear of the handles, Dreweatts cannot guarantee these are original to the piece, there is a chance they are later replacements (probably fitted at the time of the leather being replaced). There are a quantity of shelf supports present, Dreweatts do not guarantee all are present to support all shelves. The shelves are sold with the piece but are not presented supported at the salerooms.Overall this has been polished, The interior of the glass doors appear to have been previously fabric lined, there are tack marks where this has been, one piece of glass is cracked-through. There are various keys to operate the locks, the cabinet doors do not appear to have a key, and one small cupboard door to the interior is also locked shut.
