There have been later additions to the shelves with plate supports and there is gapping to the plank constuction both on the sides and on the top as well as to the doors. Replacement handles. There are lots of large holes on the cupboard doors - not from worm. However, there are some signs of old worm. The doors have been later glued and braced. Replacement hinges. The right hand door has been broken off at some point going against the hinge. Stained. Watermarked. Heavily scratched. Heavy wear and tear conducive with age and use. In need of considerable restoration throughout. See images for further details.
An Edwardian mahogany Sheraton Revival wardrobe compactum, the central cupboard door enclosing a shelf over five drawers flanked by two mirrored doors enclosing hanging spaces, raised on a plinth base, 190.5 cm wide x 59 cm deep x 209.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Doesn't quite sit right. Top is gapping at the back and can't get it quite on. Possibly needs screwing together - unsure? The left hand side appears to be a little bit more faded compared to the rest of the piece. There is some roughness about 4.5ft up on the right hand side as if it has been rubbing against something continuously. The left hand door will not open without slightly pushing it to the left. Again this might be something to do with it not quite fitting together quite right, rather than it being a problem with the actual door. Some splits to the veneer where they are joined. Replaement screws to the escutcheons. Otherwise general wear and tear conducive with age and use. See images for further detail.
