A 21st century bespoke study bookcase made from oak felled near Honiton in 2000, designed by John McDowell and constructed in Slovenia, in three sections with discrete Chinoiserie geometric spandrels and a plain cornice, each end section having six adjustable shelves over the deep bottom shelf, the central section also with six adjustable shelves over a two door cupboard with malachite handles. With this lot are three over-hanging cylindrical lamps in a brushed bronzed finish which can be fixed to the top of the bookcase (height 230cm, width 270cm, depth 32cm) [see also lots 393 and 395]

A Japanese early Meiji period lacquered shodana cabinet. Decorated with scrolling foliage and butterflies, the doors with gilt landscape scenes and raised on scrolling supports, 135.5cm. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Scrolls missing from the top shelf. Heavy chipping to the supports. Supports need re gluing.
OLDRICH ASENBRYL (born 1943); a large stoneware jug and high footed bowl, polychrome decoration on speckled grey ground, painted OA mark and date of 1988, jug height 39cm (2). (D) CONDITION REPORT: Chips to base of jug and foot ring of bowl - probably due to sticking to kiln shelf, otherwise appears good with no further obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.
