A Gordon Russell double helix teak sideboard, designed by David Booth and Judith Ledeboer for the 1951 Festival of Britain, the cupboard doors with brass ring handles enclosing a shaped shelf and a baize lined drawer, all upon tapering legs. 122 cm wide, 84 cm high, 46 cm deep (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The top is sun bleached and slightly darker at the rear left and right hand edges. There are some small brown speckles on the top which maybe a residue of staining. There are similar brown speckles to the front framing the doors. The section directly above the doors is sun bleached. The left hand side appears to be more sun bleached than the right. You will notice from the web image that there is a small white mark on the right hand side door just near the top centre, this is an anomaly within the wood itself. The doors show square patches of sun bleaching. The interior is basically sound, however there are some small scratches to the shelf and a series of small scratches and scuffing directly above the drawer. There are small surface scratches to the right and left sides. In general, although structurally sound, it is very sun bleached throughout.
