An uncommon Crown Devon Rd.No. 813582 Musical trinket box commemorating the life of John Peel 1776 - 1854. The top with a good portrait of interest, the subject holding a whip and hunting horn, flanked by foxhound`s. The corners formed by tree trunk like supports, the sides and end panels with fox masks, whips and hunting horns, the front with two verses of the famous song/ refrain. An 18th century oak and mahogany banded longcase clock of eight day movement striking the hour on a bell, the square brass dial, 25cm, with Roman numerals, secondary calendar dial and signed John Jones, London to the matted centre, the hood with a swan neck pediment and turned pilasters, over a trunk with an oblong door, inset with a glass lenticle, on bracket feet, 203cms high.
