Two cast silver monkeys, one in top hat and tails, smoking a gold cigar, the other with cap and basket, selling a gold light, standing on gold faced leaves with textured and incised decoration. A split shaft forming the trunk or stem with a cast monkey sliding lock, smoking a gold pipe. French poinçon. An oak and mahogany thirty hour longcase clock, signed Wm Hargraves, circa 1830, swan neck pediment, trunk door flanked by turned mahogany pilasters, recessed mahogany crossbanded plinth, 14-inch painted arched dial, four pillar movement with anchor escapement and outside countwheel striking on a bell, 229cm high 22.03.18, Case with small scuff marks in places, finials are missing, hood columns with some rubbing and flaking to the surfaces, hood door with small chips, dial with scratches and slightly discoloured to the centre, movement needs cleaning, with one weight and a pendulum.

A Blanc De Chine Figure of Baku:19th century, in a crouched position about to leap, H 17cm x W 20cm. Note: Baku was a Chinese mythical chimera with an elephant's trunk, rhinoceros' eyes, an ox's tail, and a tiger's paws, which protected against pestilence and evil, also in Japanese Folklore as a devourer of bad dreams and nightmares.
