An early 19thC figured, ebony inlaid and crossbanded mahogany longcase clock with fan marquetry quadrant ornament, the round arched hood surmounted by three, lacquered brass, spreadeagle mounted orb finials, over a convex glazed window with a brass bezel, between reed carved, canted flanks and glazed side panels, the straight trunk with an arched, pendulum door and quadrant, stop-fluted pilasters, on a box base and stepped plinth; the twin bell strike movement faced by a convex, white painted Roman dial 92''h
THE LESLIE DAVIE COLLECTION OF JADE A white jade box lid or ruyi plaque carved with an immortal on a tree trunk boat, a bat flies above him, 11.5 x 13.4cm, possibly 18th or 19th century. (See illustration) Condition Report: From the front natural fissures in the stone can be seen, at the back there are slight chips. Several holes seem to have been drilled.
An 18th century mahogany eight day longcase clock with rocking ship automaton, the hood with swanneck pediment, above shaped top trunk door flanked by quarter pilasters, upon a rectangular plinth, the 12inch square brass dial signed 'Nicholson, WtHaven' to the silvered chapter ring, with urn scroll spandrels, engraved centre, date aperture, a rocking ship painted to an oval panel in the dial Please find photographs attached as requested. Please note the condition of the ship as per the photographs. Seat board has been raised. Dial does not sit well in the hood. Some splits to the case, particularly the lower sections. These are highlighted in the photographs. Condition is generally good although I would suspect the case and dial are a marriage. Assume it needs a service.
Baluchi camel field prayer rug, Khorasan, north east Persia, late 19th/early 20th century, 5ft. x 3ft. 1.52m. x 0.91m. Overall wear with corrosion to black/browns; small repairs; slight loss to lower end. Note the decoration to the trunk of the central tree motif and the ‘roots’ at the base of the tree; the tree motif repeated in the two hand spandrels.

An early 19th Century oak Llanrwst longcase clock (Ysbyty Ifan Family), eight day twin weight movement striking on a bell, the painted dial with subsidiary seconds and date aperture and stamped 'Walker Hughes' back plate, indistinct maker's name possibly William Owen, broken swan neck pediment and brass capped pillars flanking the dial door, quarter cut pillared decoration to trunk sides on a stepped base, 214 cms high, 53 cms across the hood

A little tin pest, contact marks and a few spots, otherwise better than extremely fine and retaining some brilliance, rare. Bertie Greatheed (1759-1826), dramatist, admirer of the French Revolution, and opponent of the Pitt administration. He introduced a petition to have the King dismiss his ministers during a meeting held at the Race Course in Birmingham in May of 1797. The three people in the cart are Dr Samuel Parr, curate of Hatton, the Revd J H Williams, vicar of Wellesbourne, and Bertie Greatheed. On 19 June 1797 the Aris’s Gazette published a notice that “A medal is this day published, representing the Right Heads, Wrong Heads, and the Great Heads, as exhibited at the Meeting at Warwick, on May 31 and may be had struck in Silver, Copper and Tin, at No. 20, Gt. Charles St.”

BRITISH 18th CENTURY TOKENS, Robert Reynolds, Reynolds & Co., Copper Halfpenny, 1792, obv Lady Godiva riding a horse, PRO BONO PUBLICO around, 1792 in exergue, large wide spaced date, large letters in legend, dot after legend nearly touches the horses tail, Godiva’s head equidistant between the O of BONO and the P of PUBLICO, the tip of the horses ear to the base of the O of BONO, rev elephant and castle (armorial bearings of the city of Coventry), COVENTRY HALFPENNY around, small ear and trunk on elephant, the upper left of the castle aligns to the right of the Y of COVENTRY, no dot after HALFPENNY, edge plain, not in collar (D&H Warwickshire 235b). Better than extremely fine and exceedingly rare.
