A Scottish mahogany veneered longcase c1820 with a flat top and convex moulding beneath, square hood door with a circular glass dial aperture, turned wooden bezel flanked by plain pilasters and silk backed sound frets to the sides, hood on a tapered trunk with flamed mahogany veneer and applied cushion mouldings, three-quarter length trunk door with crossbanding on a square plinth raised on a deep convex moulding and four turned bun-feet, white painted 12� dial with Roman numerals, minute track and subsidiary seconds dial, with plain blued steel moon hands and seconds pointer, dial pinned via a Wilson cast iron false plate to an eight day rack striking movement with a recoil anchor escapement, striking the hours on a bell. A mahogany cased ADMIRAL FITZROY'S ROYAL POLYTECHNIC BAROMETER. With Davis & Co London label, the 9" dial over a glazed trunk with instructions over Fahrenheit and Centigrade thermometer, with foliate carved triangular pediment H114cm Condition Report: Section below the dial previously broken off but is present. Mirror to the top section is loose but present. Glass appears to be in good condition. Left hand wooden section by the circular dial has previously broken and been repaired.
A 19th century flame mahogany eight-day longcase clock. With arched hood and three finials, the silvered dial inscribed WILLIAM BULL Stratford with night/day apperture inscribed above and below TEMPUS/FUGIT with subsidiary second dial and calendar apperture. door L76cm, H227cm Condition Report: The door has a minor bow at the top but narrows as you descend to the bottom (roughly half the door length). Small split on the right side of the hood and a small split on the right hand side of the trunk. Two noticeable joint splits to the arch of the hood. Otherwise fair wear and tear to the base consistent with age and usage. Good patina to the carcus.
