Joshua Harrocks, Lancaster, an oak cased thirty hour longcase clock, mid 18th century, the 12" square brass dial with date crescent and twin ringed winding holes, with C-scroll cast spandrels, the hood with projecting cornice over turned columns, the case with crossbanded trunk door flanked by quarter columns, the base with canted corners, raised on bracket feet.
Arlot & Son, Sunderland, a mahogany and inlaid eight day longcase clock, the 13" painted dial with subsidiary seconds and date calendar, gilded to the corners and arch with vases and scrolls, the square hood with free standing columns over a well figured arch top trunk door, flanked by inlaid canted corners, above a base raised on bracket feet. 2.22m
An early nineteenth century camphor wood and brass bound campaign trunk with inscribed plaque for Major General Garvock. Major General Sir John Garvock served in the British army notably in the Ambela campaign Afghanistan. Remnants of three luggage labels including that of Lady Garvock, 24" wide. Condition Report : One handle missing, dents and light damage to mounts, polish marked throughout, no internal tray, key present.
An 18th century oak and elm cased long case clock, the hood with moulded cornice, glazed door flanked by turned pilasters over an arched trunk door to a flat fronted base on bracket feet, the square brass dial with silvered chapter ring, Roman numerals within applied C scroll and urn spandrels to a matted centre and thirty hour four pillar movement CONDITION REPORTS Hood, trunk and base have evidence of wormholes (but no evidence of activity, as recently treated by furniture restorer), swept moulding to the base of the trunk to the plinth base has some aged knocks with blackened stainings and gouge marks, this also extends down to the left-hand edge of the front panel adjacent to the side panel, there is evidence of a later bracket foot base, movement has a replacement back board.
An oak longcase clock in the 18th century manner, the arched brass dial with silver chapter ring, Roman and Arabic numerals inscribed "Tempus Fugit" to the arch, within an arched case with moulded cornice and glazed trunk to a fielded panelled base on ogee bracket feet CONDITION REPORTS Approx. 199 cm high. Case has wear conducive with age and use, generally appears OK although the lower back section is missing (see photos), brass weight cases are scuffed and pitted, face is worn, see photos re mechanisms.
