A William III walnut and marquetry eight-day longcase clock William Jackson, London, circa 1695 The five finned pillar inside countwheel bell-striking movement with 12 inch square brass dial with foliate border engraved calendar aperture, ringed winding holes and subsidiary seconds dial to the matted centre, within an applied Roman numeral chapter ring with Arabic five minutes, stylised fleur de lys half hour markers and signed William Jackson to lower edge, the angles with applied Indian mask and scroll cast spandrels, in a case with moulded cornice and fretwork frieze above integral pilasters to the floral marquetry inlaid hood door, with conforming decoration to the convex throat moulding and long trunk door further inlaid with birds and mythical figures amongst flowering foliage on an ebony ground, the door surround with scrolling foliage, the sides divided into panels, the plinth base with conforming marquetry continuing on the moulded skirt base, 221cm high.

A Balmoral Highlanders uniform and fitted trunk comprising, black beretha wool doublet with twenty six diamond shaped silver plated buttons with linear background and lion sergeant, by Firmin and Sons London; a black wool glengarry; a Hunting Stewart tartan kilt, plaid and under trousers; a pair of diced hose; pair of black leather brogues; contained within fitted black japanned trunk with twin handles and hinged lid, with blue painted interior with sectioned lift out tray, the interior of lid with painted '25', the case with maker's labels for 'Shirras Laing & Co Ltd, Makers, Schoolhill Aberdeen' Notes: the fact this trunk is numbered '25' would appear to point to this being the final set of the 1903 commission by Edward VII for the twenty five new uniforms from William Robb.
GEORGE WALDFOGEL, LYNN, AN UNUSUAL NORFOLK LONGCASE CLOCK, the oak case with long trunk door, the flat hood with plain tapered pilasters, complete with unusual German movement of "Black Forest" type, wooden posted movement with brass wheel work, striking on a top-mounted bell, 30.5cm arched painted dial, signed. Seat board replaced. 2.05m overall. Note: The Waldfogel business clearly had Germanic connections and this clock brings together the styles of English and German clock making of the mid-19th century. The case is earlier.
