Robert Clidsdale is recorded in Smith, John OLD SCOTTISH CLOCKMAKERS 1453-1850 as being apprenticed to Alexander Brand in 1738, he gained his Freedom in 1754 and worked presumably until his death in 1786.

Kember, Shaw to lower edge, the angles with bird and urn cast spandrels, the case with shallow box upstand, ogee cornice and foliate blind fret to frieze above three quarter columns to hood, rectangular caddy moulded door to trunk, on plinth base with moulded skirt, 210cm (82.5ins) high. Josiah Kember is recorded in Baillie, G.H. Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World as working in Shaw 1771-7.

Robinson, Dudley, mid 19th century The four pillar two train rack and bell striking movement with 16 inch circular white Roman numeral dial bearing signature W. ROBINSON, Dudley to centre and with blued steel hands, the case with convex glass inset rosewood crossbanded moulded door to dial surround above concave-topped rectangular door with conforming crossbanded borders to trunk and reeded upper collar to the curved base, 136cm (53.5ins) high.
An early 20th Century Mahogany and Boxwood line inlaid Mantel Clock, the balloon shaped case with inlaid border and trunk decorated with inlaid rosette on a stepped plinth base, raised on four splayed bracket feet, to a cast Brass bezel with bevelled glass enclosing a 4 ¼” Arabic enamel dial with outside minute track (hairline), and blued steel spade hands to a circular Brass movement, stamped “RC”, with anchor escapement and strike on a coiled gong, height 11 ¾”
A second quarter of the 19th Century Mahogany cased 8-day Long Cased Clock, Behr – Lynn, the case with arched hood with reverse swan neck pediment and three gilt wood globe and spiked finials, over free standing columns to a moulded throat and long arched trunk door, flanked by ¼ columns, to a panelled plinth base, to a 12” third period painted dial, decorated to the arch with a Biblical scene, and spandrels painted as thatched country cottages amongst landscape and enclosing a Roman dial with outside minute track and enclosing subsidiary seconds with pierced and stamped Brass hands, to a movement with plates united by four knopped pillars and with anchor escapement, strike on a bell, height 8 ½”; (Lorenz Behr was murdered at Tittleshall on 18th Nov 1853 by William Thompson, who was also charged with theft from said person. Thompson aged 21 was executed at Norwich Castle on Saturday April 8th 1854 for the wilful murder of Lorenz Behr (this is said to be the last Public hanging in Norwich) – Norfolk and Norwich Clocks and Clockmakers, edited by Clifford & Yvonne Bird.
A second quarter of the 19th Century Oak Cased 30-hour long Case Clock, DJ Hoy – Mattishall, the case with overhanging cornice and swan neck pediment, over reeded and bluster freestanding columns, to a moulded throat and long arched trunk door, flanked by canted corners, to a plinth base, to a 12” square painted dial, spandrels painted as Country Cottages with streams to a third period painted Roman chapter ring with outside minute track and signed centre with further stylised bird details, and fitted with blued steel pierced hands, to a movement with plates united by four knopped pillars and with anchor escapement and strike on a bell, height 80”
