Dame of Sark interest - an early 19th century inlaid mahogany North Country eight day longcase clock by Thomas Dodson of Leeds, with bell strike movement fronted by an arched painted Roman dial signed 'Dodson Leeds', with painted floral urn spandrels and cornucopia to arch, subsidiary seconds dial at 12 and date dial at 6, the case with swan's neck pediment on turned columns, the trunk with crown-top door within kingwood and mahogany cross banding, on an inlaid roundel base with bracket feet, 92in. (234cm.) high. * Provenance: Previously owned by Dame Sybil Hathaway, the Dame of Sark and purchased at auction by the current owners in Guernsey.
A pair of Japanese red ground cloisonné vases Meiji period (1868-1912), unmarked, of slender ovoid form with waisted neck, the red ground, decorated with butterfly / butterflies around a fenced in acer tree with various flowers at the base, the neck and foot rims with ornated decorated bands, 12in. (30.5cm.) high, one a/f. (2) *Condition: The first - with two large impact marks, to upper ovoid body, one to the left and one above the larger butterfly, each going through the enamel work to main body, approximately 1 to 2 in. in size, the base with fracture crack above foot; The second - with horizontal enamel surface hairline approximately 1in. long, upper trunk area above butterfly, another running vertically on red ground approximately 2in. long, enamel chip marks to swish on flower decoration, probably done in manufacturing, single air bubble type inclusion to middle of body.
A late 19th century French wall clock with barometer and thermometer the mahogany and stained beechwood case with balustrade top with turned finials, over a shaped, panelled trunk with fluted columns and foliate carving, the pressed metal dial with French enamel Roman numerals, over a mercury thermometer and aneroid barometer beneath, the twin train movement striking the hours on a single gong, 36in. (91.5cm.) high.
