A Channel Islands eight day mahogany and yew longcase clock by Nicholas Le Huray of Guernsey, with four pillar, twin train bell strike movement, the signed, white painted Arabic dial with subsidiary seconds dial at noon and date dial at six, floral painted spandrels, an oval painted vignette to the arch of a lady holding a fan with her dog in a park, the inlaid mahogany case with flared arched cornice centred by an inlaid shield over an arched door in yew veneer, the trunk with flame mahogany arched and kingwood cross banded door, headed to the corners with fan paterae, the cross banded base with flame mahogany panel within herringbone banding, circular fan paterae to the incuse corners, on a plinth with integral bracket feet, 83½in. J742 : No56`, further impressed `L.g. Weygang Jan. 25 1893` to lower backplate, complete with signed lead weights, the brass dial with matted centre, silvered Roman chapter ring, subsidiary seconds dial at noon, date aperture at six, four seasons gilt brass spandrels, signed to chapter ring at six, `Nicolas Blondel Guernesey`, the good quality later 19th century mahogany case with flared cornice over a fluted frieze and square glazed door flanked by fluted pillars, fretwork side grilles, the trunk with fielded arched panelled door flanked by fluted columns with foliate bracket capitals, on a conforming fielded panelled base with turned feet, 76¼in.
