A William IV mahogany three-train quarter striking longcase clockBy Pryor, LondonThe case with an arched pediment surmounted by three spherical brass finials, above the convex glazed bezel, the sides each with a pierced sound grille, the trunk with inset with a moulded panel door, of well-figured timber, on a plinth base; the 12in. circular white painted dial inscribed PRYOR LONDON, with seconds subsidiary and Roman chapters, blued steel spade hands with pierced roundel stems, the substantial three-train movement with six turned and finned pillars, anchor escapement, chiming the quarters on a carillion of six bells, the pin-drum governed by a countwheel cam, and striking the hours on a larger bell, with internal countwheel211 cm. high, (three weights, one pendulum, one key). A rare and unusual late Regency/William IV parcel-gilt faux rosewood world-time tavern timepiecePossibly East Anglian SchoolThe case decorated with anthemion, with a lift-off glazed bezel above the trunk with fluted canted angles and hinged door, above a panel with angled terminal base, the 14 ¾ in. silvered dial formed of two concentric rings and a central disc, the outer ring with twenty-four hour Roman chapters, with star engraved five-minute markers and arabic fifteen-minute numerals, the inner ring engraved with twenty-four world cities and fixed gilt brass date of the moon marker, the central disc with moon phase aperture and gilt star decoration, the four pillar movement with tapering plates, and anchor escapement, and chain pull to wind, the underdial work with iron frame work and large brass wheelwork, with oval-shaped brass-cased weight 146 cm. high, (one pendulum, one brass weight).
