A WILLIAM & MARY 8-DAY LONGCASE CLOCK MOVEMENT AND DIAL, c.1695, the 5-finned pillar inside countwheel striking movement with 11 square brass dial applied with silvered Roman numeral chapter ring signed 'Fab' Robin, Londini Fecit' along lower edge, with cherub head spandrels, subsidiary seconds dial, calendar aperture with unusual crown engraved surround, ringed winding holes and tulip engraved centre to the mated ground, with original blued steel hands and now in later North Country oak case with ogee caddy to the pedimented hood with break-arch topped trunk door and on plain plinth base, 207cm.
A late 18th century mahogany longcase clock, the arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring, with alarm set engraved in reverse to the inner edge, with matted centre and subsidiaries for seconds and for date. The latter with aperture signed Robert Sampson, petty France, Westminster and with subsidiary in the arch for strike/silent. The twin train movement with anchor escapement and with alarm work to the side striking on a bell, the swan neck hood with original flambeau and leaf finials and fretwork sides the trunk showing 'Liverpool' brickwork carved features. 236cm high.
3 inch scale Aveling & Porter road steam tractor, constructed from 'Maxitrak' parts and castings. The tractor built by Mr. C. Wood with single crank having trunk guide, pressure valves, pressure gauge, ratchet oil lubricator, steam regulator, cylinder drain cocks, Stephenson link reverse, oscillating water pump, hand water pump, belly water tanks, rear brake, whistle, oilers, lamps and copper boiler. Original 'Cheddar Models' copper boiler certificate. 100 lbs/psi dated 30-9-1998. Southern Federation of Model Engineering Societies boiler test certifictae No.8566, valid until 13-4-2004. The engine finished in green paint work with lining, red wheels, fitted tyres, brass hubs and driving trolley.
Exhibition quality 1 1/2 inch scale model of an Allchin traction engine, 'Royal Chester' single cylinder, 2 speed general purpose engine. The engine has a brazed copper boiler with fittings including water gauge, pressure gauge, safety valve, blower, water lifter, clack and blowdown valves. Engine details include cylinder approximately 1 inch bore x 1 1/2 inch stroke, draincocks and pipes, displacement and mechanical lubricators, trunk type crosshead guide. Stephenson's link reverse, eccentric driven feed pump and bypass, 2 road speeds and spoked flywheel, Pickering type governor, chassis details include spoked straked wheels, worm and roller chain steering, spud pan, damper, cable drum, fairleads, water lifter, hand brake to second shaft, wooden footboard with tool box under, padlock, spark arrester, bucket, coal shovel and stoking poker, finished in maroon with yellow and red lining. 16 1/2 x 26 inches (42cm x 66cm), complete with glazed display cabinet, bronze medal and certificate.
