A Continental Majolica Pottery Game Bird Cache Pot on Stand, circa 1875, the cylindrical cache pot moulded and glazed to imitate tree bark, edged with fruiting branches of oak, held in an oak leaf and acorn "cup" at the top of a tree trunk beneath which is crouched a partridge and two chicks amongst grasses, on a shaped rustic base, the stand with impressed number 1203 and indistinct impressed oval mark, also initialled BF, 39cm high See illustration

A rare mahogany cistern tube stick barometer with ivory cistern float, Negretti & Zambra, circa 1850, with cavetto moulded caddy pediment and bevel-glazed canted ivory vernier scale signed NEGRETT & ZAMBRA, 11 HATTON GARDEN, London, above vernier adjustment screw and arched mercury tube Fahrenheit and Reaumeur scale thermometer to the caddy moulded trunk, the rounded base with domed sistern cover incorporating ivory cistern float, 96cm high. The firm of Negretti and Zambra traded from 11 Hatton Gardens 1850-9. The invention of the ivory cistern float to aid calibration of the instrument is accredited to Jesse Ramsden (worked 1768-1800).. A rare George III mahogany cistern tube stick barometer, Hannah Adams, London circa 1796, with broken triangular pediment and rectangular silvered vernier scale calibrated in inches and signed Hannah Adams, Fleet Street, LONDON above exposed tube to the caddy moulded trunk, the rounded base with domed cistern cover and level adjustment screw, 96cm high. Hannah Adams inhereted the business on the death of her esteemed husband George Adams in August 1795, she continued the business until the summer of 1796, when the stock in trade of business was sold off to William Jones.. Thomas Baxter, London, A mahogany floor standing regulator, the eight day duration timepiece movement having maintaining power and a dead beat escapement, the thirteen inch round silvered dial of regulator layout with the minutes to the outer aspect and two inner subsidiary dials for seconds and hours, engraved with the maker`s name `Thomas Baxter, London`, the dome topped mahogany case having a glazed trunk door, with raised mouldings to the base, height 210cm.
Thomas Chune, Shifnal, An oak longcase clock, the eight day duration movement striking the hours on a bell, the twelve inch arched brass dial having a raised silvered chapter ring engraved with black Roman numerals, cast rococo spandrels to the four corners, a matted dial centre with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, blued steel hands and a silvered boss within the arch engraved with the maker`s name `Thos. Chune, 1773`, the oak case having a raised panel to the base with canted corners, fluted quartered columns to the trunk with cast brass capitals, the hood having fluted pillars, with the swan neck pediment having a turned wooden finial to the centre, height 226cm (inc. finial). * Thomas Chune is recorded as working in Shifnal, Staffordshire until 1796.
