An early 18th century oak longcase clock, the hood with moulded cornice, the trunk with arched long door, on a later panelled base, the 12" square brass dial with silvered chapter ring, Arabic and Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, the twin train movement striking on a bell, 195cm high, with key (2).

Norfolk Yeomanry Officer’s Frock Coat of Unique Regimental Pattern. A spectacular and unusual double-breasted blue frock coat based on 1897 Pattern, with white metal Royal Cypher badges to the upright collar, and eight gilt regimental buttons in each row in front. Round cuffs with blue three-point slashes, both edged with yellow piping. Blue shoulder-straps, also with yellow piping, bearing Captain’s stars in gold embroidery ... Accompanied by an extremely unusual bright yellow silk waist-sash with twin bright blue lines and matching tassels, all constructed like an Infantry officer’s crimson sash. Soft white leather lining Both near VGC. (2 items)The extraordinary sash, which was in a Norfolk Yeo. uniform trunk with this frock coat, seems to have been meant for wear with it. This is perhaps an example of royal exuberance in shaping military fashion, possibly in this case reflecting a Scandinavian influence.
A Queen Anne and later walnut and seaweed marquetry longcase clock by R. Baterson of London, the brass movement of one month duration with five turned and finned pillars with an anchor escapement and an outside countwheel and striking on a bell, the eleven inch dial with a silvered chapter ring, with Roman and Arabic numerals, the centre with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture and signed 'R. Baterson London', with gilt mask and foliage spandrels, the case inlaid with scrolling leaves and cherubs, the hood with a hinged door, the trunk door with a glass lenticle, on bracket feet, 212.8cm high. Provenance: Sold by the executors of the late Pamela Spater (d.2018), Amersham, Buckinghamshire.
A Louis Vuitton travelling trunk, covered in damier chequered canvas, with metal and brass mounts, inscribed 'MARQUE L. VUITTON DEPOSEE', applied with old paper travelling labels with initials 'A. H.', the top with previous owner's name in red paint 'SUSAN HAW...', with side carrying handles, the interior with an original paper trade label, numbered '103450', 51.4cm high, 61cm wide, 42.7cm deep. Provenance: The estate of the late Professor Rodney Fitch CBE. Items removed from Court House, Aldbourne, Wiltshire, the interior designed by Robert Kime.

Illustrations on p. 72Swazi clubs are different from other sticks found in Southern Africa in that they are asymmetrical. “The preferred method of manufacture is to select a branch that is the correct handle thickness, about as thick as a man’s thumb. This is then removed from the tree together with a short section of the main trunk, and the thick trunk section is carved to form the head of the club. Generally only the head is carved, the branch handle is frequently left covered in the natural bark†Sicebile, p. 71. (5)
VINTAGE LOUIS VUITTON STEAMER TRUNK an early 20thc steamer trunk, the monogrammed case with wooden bars, metal studs and brackets. With a brass lock plate and catches, and leather carrying handles on each side. The internal tray with a lidded compartment on one side and lined inside the lid. [Updated description] London Transport bus stop enamel E-PLATE for route 310 destinated Hertford North Station, Selefarm Estate and annotated 'Fare Stage'. This was located at Hertford Post Office in Fore Street in respect of local journeys on this trunk route from Enfield and is probably one of a unique pair. In ex-use condition with some weathering towards the top. [1]
