With 8-day movement, seconds and calendar inset dials (rubbed), circular hooded white painted 32cm dial, in a mahogany case featuring a long trunk door with quarter columns to trunk and flame mahogany sections. H210cm Condition Report: there are only two veneer losses, both by the hinge, the dial needs re painting as only when I 'torch light it' can I make out he writing on the dial. Otherwise it seemsfine !

A Mahogany Chiming Longcase Clock, retailed by Batty & Sons, Manchester, circa 1900, 13-3/4-inch arched brass dial, Whittington/Cambridge chime selection dial and chime/silent, large triple weight driven movement with a deadbeat escapement, chiming on eight tubular bells and a further tubular bell for the hours257cm highCase with some mouldings missing, left hand side of the trunk and hood with some fret work missing, front of the hood with some carved mounts missing and moulding missing, gilt metal columns are discoloured, case with scratches and dents in parts, dial is discoloured, movement is dirty, one of the chiming hammers has broken and needs repairing, clock needs restoration to the case and the movement cleaning. With pendulum, three weights and nine tubular bells.
A Good Oak Eight Day Longcase Clock with an Interesting Engraved Coat of Arms for the Robinson Family, signed Will Wilson, Kendal, circa 1755, swan neck pediment, inset front columns, nicely figured trunk door with crossbanded inlaid outer borders, brick work decoration to the lower sides of the trunk, plinth with canted corners, 13-inch arch brass dial with a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring signed, arch with silvered plaque with engraved Coat of Arms, four pillar movement with an anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell227cm highThe Coat of Arms is for the Robinson family and it would have been owned by John W Robinson of Highgate in Kendal at the time. John W Robinson was Mayor in Kendal in 1756-57.This clockmaker William Wilson was apprenticed to William Burton of Kendal in 1735. He purchased clock cases from Gillows and supplied them with a clock. Some of his clocks are displayed in Nunnington Hall near York (this clock was owned by a W Rutson, Mayor of Kendal 1772), and also displayed at Cannon Hall, WR of Yorkshire and Abbott Hall, in Kendal.Case has a good colour and a nice patina to the surfaces, some signs of small cracks to the hood sides, top central finial with wear and chips, front of the plinth with a central crack, trunk door slightly bowed, signs of old woodworm holes to the backboard and the topside of the hood which are now non-active, dial is clean, movement is clean. With pendulum and two weights.
A Good Mahogany Eight Day Longcase Clock with the Case Probably Made by Gillow of Lancaster, signed William Newby, Kendal, circa 1770, the high quality case with a swan neck pediment and flower head carved capitals, nicely figured flame mahogany trunk door with inlaid stringing to the outer borders, plinth with an inlaid circular panel, bracket feet, 13-inch brass dial with a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, engraved dial centre with seconds and date aperture, arch with moonphase and tidal dial and signed on a silvered plaque above, four pillar movement with an anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell243cm highThis clock is illustrated and mentioned in Loomes (Brian) Clockmakers of Northern England, pg.182.Case is in good condition and with a good patina, small dents in parts and minor chips, silvered dial surfaces are discoloured in parts, movement is complete. With pendulum and two weights.
A Rare and Interesting Late 17th Century Thirty Hour Original Carved Oak 'Coffin' Cased Longcase Clock, unsigned, circa 1695, the original carved oak case with a flat top pediment, hood with pierced front and side frets, trunk door with carved outer borders and two central recessed floral carved panels, 9-inch square brass dial with a silvered Roman numeral chapter ring, engraved dial centre, single hand, crown and cherub spandrels, four pillar movement with an anchor escapement and outside countwheel striking on a bell 189cm highThis clock was purchased from Brian Loomes and is illustrated in his article on his website on Archive, page 57. This article mentions that this is a very rare example of an original carved oak case and typical of the early years of longcase clock making and is the same form of case to the lantern clock early cases. It is also noted that only a small amount of these 'coffin' form cases survive and it is also very rare to see a case like this with its original carving from the late 17th Century, which is thought only a handful are known today.Original carved case with good colour and has a nice patina to the surfaces, case with some minor chips in parts to the edges and general wear due to age, dial is discoloured, movement looks complete but is dirty. With pendulum and one weight.
Attributed to Hugh Barron (c.1746–1791) Portrait of Mr Peter Galhee, full length standing in a landscape, wearing a powdered wig, white shirt and neck tie, with a yellow waistcoat and a green overcoat, holdng a tricorn hat and leaning on a stick Oil on canvas, 125cm by 100cmProvenance: Clarendon Gallery Ltd., London With Christie's stencil to stretcher DN50 Relining of some age, which retains a reasonable level of flexibility to the canvas. Likely old clean and revarnish. Some surface dirt and discoloured varnish now in evidence. Some flattening to original impasto and paint is possibly slightly thin in places as a result of the restoration process, ie right hand side foliage and tree trunk branches. Stretcher shadow in parts and areas of varying sized craquelure which is more pronouced in line with parts of the stretcher and also in the background to gentleman's right hand and lower right arm. Push mark from back to front within the shadow of his pointed left foot with small losses and borderline perferation of canvas, which is approximately 5-6cm in length overall (see image). Three patches of retouching or overpainting towards upper left hand corner of varying sizes, the largest being approximately 3-4cm by 3cm overall. Further patch of retouching/restoration within the sky just left of the gentleman's right hand side of face, which is approximately 4cm in overall diameter (see image). Minor retouches and strengthening to his left hand side lapel, right hand side shoulder and elements of his overcoat, more consistantly within the lower inside. Small retouch just below his left hand side knee within the upper part of the right stocking, which is approximately 1-1.5cm in diameter. Some broader general strengthening to foreground and the line of trees and foliage in mid distance, in addition to a patch of consistant strengthening to the slither of landscape to the right of the far right hand side tree. Relatively small area of restoration and retouching within the central part and the immediate sky of the outer foliage of the far left hand side tree. Other relatively minor and sporadic retouches elsewhere, etc (see addition images under UV). Some of the restoration has deteriorated and is mildly visible by eye. A lifebelt hung from a tree trunk at the entrance to the pier at Crystal Lake, and featured in the scene where Chelsea (Willa Ford) and Nolan (Ryan Hansen) went wakeboarding on the lake. The ring-shaped lifebelt has four brown canvas straps wrapped around it with white rope, and features the words "Camp Crystal" printed in orange. The lot exhibits substantial signs of wear, including cracks, divots, faded lettering and general discolouration. STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI (1983) - Anthony Daniels Collection: C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) Waist GreebleA C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) waist greeble from Richard Marquand's Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. C-3PO had five greeble connectors which fastened to wires around his midriff and kept his trunk section attached to his chest piece. These connectors also prevented the trunk section from falling down. This metal waist greeble is made of aluminium and has a painted golden finish. It exhibits very minor wear to the finish from production use. Very Large Meissen Style group of Hunting dogs and Boar, Late 19th century, a very large group figure depicting a struggle between two hunting dogs and boar, trunk is hollow. Diameter approx. 40cm x Height 25.5cm (Viewing Recommended). Standing dogs tail is restored. Tree trunk has restoration. Base shows a large crack running the entire base and around the figure, it does not however run completely around the figure. Firing cracks are present due to the large size of the figure.
Continental porcelain oil lamp in the form of an elephant, in the manner of Alfred Stellmacher, blue mark to base '6695' and 'PSL?', complete with squat glass chimney and cranberry coloured glass globular shade, 47cm tall overall. One tusk has been poorly restored. Chip to trunk next to restored tusk. Chips to foot rim. Lower point of left ear chipped. Glass chimney and shade free from chips and cracks. Gilding rubbed on shade. Some losses to metal chimney holder.
