A 19th century longcase clock, with eight day movement, the case with swans neck pediment, short trunk door and conforming base. Height 209 cm. CONDITION REPORT: We have two weights and a pendulum with this clock. We have not had the clock set up and running. We do not have a key. The movement looks to be complete and is in reasonably clean condition. The face is as you see it in the image a little dirty. The second pointer is missing. The hood is in generally good condition with no losses and only minor stress fractures to the veneers. The glass would appear to be original. The trunk door is not warped. The sides of the case are in good condition also. The base has some veneer losses to the right hand top corner and further down near the bottom. The bracket feet are missing. The backboards are original. In our opinion the movement and case may not have always been together.
A George III oak and mahogany cased grandfather clock, with brass dial and eight day striking movement by Malkin Kirkby, with moon phase, complete with pendulum and weights. Height 219 cm. CONDITION REPORT: We have two weights and the pendulum. Both trains wind and when weight is applied to both the strike and going train the movement appears to operate as it should. When the hands are advanced the date advances also. The movement is a little dirty and would perhaps benefit from a clean. The moon phase appears to advance as it should. The moon phase has clearly been repainted. The hood has a cracked glass. The top left brass roundel is damaged. The section of moulding above the inlaid shell is partially missing. The left hand return moulding at the top of the case has been detached and badly glued. The Greek key inlay beneath the crossbanded frieze is a little damaged at the left corner but not significantly. The trunk door is not warped. The case polish is however a little dry and faded particularly to the front door and base. The surround to the inlaid shell on the base is a little perished. The bracket feet to the front and sides of the base are scuffed and worn. The backboards are original.
A Victorian oak silver chest, metal bound and with iron carrying handle to either side. Width 83 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The silver chest is as you will see from our images a little tired. Whilst all of the metal bindings are present they have lost most of their original black finish and are all rusty. The top of the trunk has a full width split in an almost central position. The lock hasp is slightly bent. The trunk is currently locked and we do not have a key. The wooden body of the trunk is generally discoloured and dry. Both iron carrying handles are present.
A mahogany cased grandmother clock, with three-train spring driven striking movement and with roundel to the base. Height 173 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The movement winds on all three trains. It appears to be ticking away but is not striking when manually advanced. There does not appear to be anything missing from the movement and all gongs and hammers are present. We have the pendulum. We do not have a key for either the hood or trunk door. The doors are locked. The case is in extremely good condition with only very minor marks around the key holes to both the hood and case. There are some very minor marks around the feet but the case is really in first class condition.
An oak longcase clock, circa 1930, with St. Michael Westminster or Whittington chimes, the trunk door glazed. Height 200 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The movement is ticking away as it should. It strikes when advanced on the quarter, half, three quarter and full. The movement seems fairly clean. We have all three weights and the pendulum. The case is in generally very good condition. There is no evidence of any woodworm. The hood is in good order all round. The only minor issue is perishing to the cloth to the fretwork panels on either side. The case itself is in very condition with no issues. The door is not warped. We do not have the keys for the hood or trunk door, neither are locked. The backboards to the case are original.
