A MID 19TH CENTURY OAK AND MAHOGANY EIGHT-DAY LONG CASE CLOCK by Yeates of Penrith, having a broken swan neck pediment over an arched glazed door and turned columns, the short pointed arch trunk door with crossbanding between inlaid panels and canted corners, over a plain crossbanded base, the arch of the dial painted with a scene depicting a sailing boat passing a castellated building, the chapter ring with Roman hours framing the makers name, subsidiary seconds and date dials and two winding apertures, all framed by spandrels painted with ruined follies, sold with weights and pendulum 215cm(h)

The 12" brass dial mounted with pierced figural spandrels, silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, signed Jn Cooper, London. All over a long shaped trunk and raised to a bracket plinth, 218cm high. ILLUSTRATED
A mid 18c. 8 day walnut cased Longcase clock. The brass arched dial style with silvered Roman numeric chapter ring with date aperture strike/silent feature signed "Stumbels, Totnes" fitted in carved wood with eagle finials raised above a cross banded trunk door flanked by quarter columns, the whole on bracket feet. Approx. 238 cms high. It is widely believed that William Stumbels was one of the greatest clock makers outside of London. Various examples of his work exist in Museums in the South West of England.
An 18c. and later walnut long case clock with eight day movement, the brass arched dial signed "Henry Hunt, London" with a silvered Roman numeric and Arabic chapter ring, subsidiary second hand, strike silent feature and date aperture with raised dolphin and scroll spandrals fitted in an arched hood above a shaped moulded trunk door (with weight and pendulum), the whole 243 cms. high.
An Edwardian Mahogany Chiming Longcase Clock, retailed by Pearce & Sons, Leicester, the arched top pediment with canted corners, pierced side frets, nicely inlaid with stringing throughout the case, moulded trunk door with a oval bevelled glass, rectangular plinth raised upon a moulded skirting, 12-inch arched brass dial with silvered Arabic chapter ring, dial centre signed on a silvered plaque Pearce & Sons, Leicester, subsidiary seconds, the arch with chime/silent selection, elaborately decorated throughout with pierced scoll work, triple weight driven movement with deadbeat escapement, quarter striking with four hammers onto four tubular bells and a further larger hammer striking a larger tubular bell for the hours, 217cm high
A Scottish Mahogany Eight Day Longcase Clock, signed Jas Paterson, Edinburgh, circa 1820, the nicely figured case of good colour, arched moulded top, side pierced sound holes, flamed veneer arched trunk door flanked by fluted pilasters, rectangular base with a moulded panel and raised upon bracket feet, 13-inch circular painted dial with Roman numerals, centre with seconds and date dials and signed Paterson, Edinburgh, four pillar movement with anchor escapement, movement with unusual arched plates, rack striking on a bell, 201cm high James Paterson is recorded in Edinburgh 1789-1825.
