A 19th century mahogany 30 hour long case clock by M Bradberry, Leyburn, having a swan neck pediment over arched glazed door, the painted dial with seated lady , bird and spandrels, enclosing the chaper ring with Arabic hours and crescent form rolling date aperture, the trunk with shaped short door crossbanded and inlaid with central oval paterae depicting Britannia, the base with conforming decoration. Sold with weight and pendulum. 226CM.

Tapestry with format-filling depiction of a tree of life with dense green foliage in which there are various birds. Around the tree trunk are arranged sheep and rabbits. signed lower left, probably from the workshop 'Visa Wasif'.

Das wollweisse Giebelfeld ist aufsteigend gemustert mit einem Lebensbaummotiv, um dessen Stamm sich am unteren Rand Tiger, Antilopen und ein Elefant gruppieren. Die oberen beiden Eckfüllungen sind hellblau, die Hauptbordüre ist rot und zeigt ein Muster mit Blüten und Antilopen. Normale Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren, tlw. etwas dünn.| Oriental carpet. KASHMIR, 20th century, 155x95 cm. The wool-white gable field is ascendingly patterned with a tree-of-life motif, around whose trunk tigers, antelopes and an elephant are grouped at the lower edge. The upper two corner fillings are light blue, the main border is red and shows a pattern of flowers and antelopes. Normal signs of age and wear, partly somewhat thin.
A fine quality, late 18th century, mahogany-cased, eight-day Liverpool longcase clock, arched brass dial with engraved floral and cross-hatched decoration to the centre, gilded cast scrolling and foliate spandrels to the corners, applied cartouche engraved for 'Clifton, Liverpool' (John Clifton is recorded by Loomes as working on Fazakerley Street from 1777, died 1794), the dial features a rolling moon aperture above which is an applied silvered plate inscribed 'On Times Uncertain Date Eternity Depends', silvered chapter ring with the engraved date markings for the central calendar, silvered subsidiary seconds dial, matched blued-steel hands, the hood of ornate architectural form featuring a carved and moulded swan-necked pediment (one of the paterae is missing), inset verre eglomise, opening glazed door flanked by reeded Doric columns and two matching half columns, the trunk having quarter reeded columns, full length door with feather veneer pattern, dental moulding and Chippendale style carved decoration, the base with matching feathered mahogany panel, canted and reeded corners, supported on ogee bracket feet, bell striking movement with knopped and ringed pillars appears to be in clean condition with recent gut lines, broken dial pillar mountings show some evidence of previous repair, with pendulum, winding crank and twin weights, height approx. 236 cmCondition Report: Case in very good condition for age, very minor moulding loss to base panel, no woodworm seen. Verre eglomise loose, movement has had previous repairs (bushing) though needs a service. Time, strike, calendar and moon trains appear to work when manually applying pressure.
A GOOD DOME TOP TRAVELLING TRUNK, circa. 1900, Parisian Malletier, La Bazar du Voyage, the wooden body with pierced strapwork decoration, pair of carrying handles, and original brass locks, the interiors with drop down tray to the lid, with applied retailer's pictorial label, the front of the chest drops to reveal a dummy drawer and two real drawers. 3ft 4ins long x 1ft 10ins deep x 2ft 6ins high.
Early George III oak-cased 8-day brass dial longcase clock, James Gibb, Stockton, circa 1770, the 12-inch break-arched dial having a signed silvered chapter ring with Roman hours, Arabic minutes and Dutch minute band, framing a matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring and terrestrial calendar crescent, within baroque urn spandrels, the arch with rolling moon phase having lunar calendar band beneath pierced cresting with rocking figure of Cupid drawing his bow, the knopped and finned four-pillar movement rack-striking on a bell, the case with flat hood and sunken columns over long trunk door, 215cm high

William Tooke of [King's] Lynn, (Norfolk), 12-inch silvered break-arched dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes framing subsidiary calendar and seconds rings, signed between "Wm. C. Tooke, Lynn", beneath Strike / Silent ring, knopped four-pillar movement rack-striking on a bell, the case with wavy cresting and ball finials over stop-fluted gilt columns, figured arched long trunk door within chequer-strung surround, and conforming stepped base, 225cm high
Second quarter 19th Century mahogany-cased 8-day painted dial longcase clock - J. Wilson, Carlisle, the 14-inch break-arched Roman dial with subsidiary seconds and calendar rings within ruins to spandrels, riverside castle and figures in a punt to arch, knopped four-pillar movement rack-striking on a bell, in veneered case with swan-neck pediment, turned hood and trunk columns, short door and crossbanded base, 214cm high
Victorian Scottish mahogany-cased 8-day painted dial longcase clock, the 13-inch circular Roman dial signed 'Dan'l C. McKay Glasgow', with subsidiary seconds and calendar rings, knopped four-pillar 8-day movement with anchor escapement, striking on a coiled gong, in a drum-head 'keyhole' form case, the vertically-opening hood door hinged behind the cresting, the entire front of the trunk unusually hinged as a single section, with integral broadening glazed panel between leaf-capped canted corners, on flared base, 208cm high, sold with two brass weights, the pendulum with turned wooden rod and cylindrical brass bobThe dial does have some crazing to the finish, flakes/losses and there are areas that have yellowed, etc. The case is structurally sound, though the finish is a little tired and some people may wish to have the case re-polished. Some small cracks and openings of joints, and the usual wear to corners and edges. We do not guarantee the movement or accuracy of timepieces, and we have not tested this clock. The movement is a bit dusty and would probably benefit from a service/clean. The chiming hammer does not appear to line up with chime. Please see our website for a series of images of this lot.
