An Export silver rounded square three piece tea service by Tu Mao Xing, Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province, circa 1880-1930, hammered overall, the tea pot with a lobed lotus bud finial to the hinged cover, a side double bamboo handle terminating in chased rocks issuing a chased prunus trunk framing a vignette chased with prunus blossom on a matted ground, 15.5cm (6in) long, 812g (26.1 oz) 清 十九/二十世纪 外销银 茶具 ( 一组三 件) The finial of the tea pot is in the form of an opening lotus flower symbolises the union of marriage and fertility. Therefore it can be assumed this service was intended as a wedding present. A month-going longcase clock, circa 1700, the square brass dial signed John Westoby, London with date aperture and subsidiary seconds dial and with cherub spandrels, the walnut case inlaid with floral marquetry panels, 203cm high/see illustration Condition Report: Overall appearance very good. Hood with later blind fret carved frieze. Main frame of hood reconstructed and showing signs of glue. Trunk with some veneer splits. The door with replaced hinges but generally in good original condition. Five-pillar movement recently overhauled and in good condition. Date aperture working. Dial is 10.5” wide

Condition poor but believed all original. Second hand missing, date wheel present but has slipped below aperture. Chapter ring tarnished. Case with splits, holes and restorations. Half of pediment missing.
