Jemdet Nasr, Ca. 3000 BC. A stone amulet in the form of a stylised elephant, with a compact body and short, rounded legs. The head is slightly elongated, with prominent curved ears and a downward-turned trunk. Ca. 2400 - 2100 BC. A terracotta chalice with a deep cup set upon a tall, tapering stem that broadens into a wide, circular foot. The cup is decorated with a painted frieze, divided into four sections by parallel lines. Two sections depict a bird with an elongated body, segmented wings, and a curved beak, another features a stylised peepal tree with a vertically striated trunk and radiating branches ending in pointed leaves, while a third presents a single peepal leaf. Ca. AD 400 - 500.An upper section of a gypsum mould cast for oil lamps. The recessed cavity follows the form of a Hayes Type IIA lamp, with a central discus featuring a relief of a palm tree with a slender trunk and symmetrically arranged fronds.
