The Lord Lieutenant's uniform of Charles Vivian, 2nd Baron, Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall 1857-1877, comprising plumed bicorn hat, red jacket with sash and three pairs of trousers together with a pair of spurs, in box together with tin trunk for plume, hat and uniform, tin trunk and 7th Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers busby box/Provenance: Plas Gwyn, Anglesey Condition Report: Lot 922:- Bicorn hat is a little tired and worn, sash good, the cloth of the coat is in good condition with no obvious damage to the red cloth, the lining is discoloured but intact, the embroidered cuffs and collar in fair condition and epaulets intact. Welsh fusiliers busby box rusty, cockade box good.

A Rare American Calendar Wall Regulator, signed Seth Thomas Clock Co, circa 1870, well figured rosewood veneered case, inside trunk door with an original Seth Thomas label, 12-1/2-inch painted dial with Roman numerals and inscribed Regulator, 14-1/2-inch painted calendar dial signed Seth Thomas Clock Co, Thomaston, Conn with patent dates up to March 4th 1862, outer date ring, day/month apertures, single weight driven movement with deadbeat escapement and maintaining power, levers leading to the calendar work below, 103cm high 10.06.15, Case with small chips and losses to the rosewood veneers, both dial with flaking to the painted surfaces in parts and some re-touching to the numerals.

A Rare and Early Quarter Striking Eight Day Longcase Clock, signed Joseph Knibb, Londini, Fecit, circa 1685, walnut case with barley twisted columns, moulded crossbanded trunk door with a glazed lenticle, 12-inch square brass dial signed below 6, later silvered chapter ring, finely engraved centre and corners with floral and scroll decoration, dial centre with seconds dial and date aperture, fine blued steel hands, large five pillar latched movement with anchor escapement and outside quarter striking with two hammers striking two bells, dial and movement circa 1685, later case, 214cm high 12.06.15, Case surfaces are faded throughout, barley twist columns are later, some later veneers, trunk with cracks and later mouldings, lock is later, cracks in parts and chips, hood door escutcheon is missing, later dial chapter ring, four vacant holes behind the dial plate from where the old original chapter would have been, movement with signs of old restorations to pinions and re-bushing to plates, movement looks complete, seatboard with two extra added wooden blocks to each side, with two weights and a pendulum, dial and movement circa 1685, later case early 18th century and later.
A Month Going Longcase Clock, signed Chas Gretton, London, walnut veneered case with a flat top pediment, moulded and crossbanded trunk door with a glass lenticle, 11-inch square brass dial with the chapter ring and dial plate below 6 signed, matted centre with seconds dial and a ringed date aperture, five pillar movement with anchor escapement and outside countwheel striking on a bell, dial and movement circa 1695, later case, 222cm high 11.06.15, Case with full restoration, replaced veneers and mouldings, re-built plinth, parts are late 17th century and later, dial and movement are clean and complete, dial and movement circa 1695, later case, with two weights and a pendulum.
A Good Month Going Chiming Centre Seconds Longcase Clock, signed Samuel Norton, Yarmouth, circa 1770, caddied pediment with brass ball finials, well figured trunk door, framed quatre form moulded plinth, 14-inch arched brass dial with a silvered chapter ring, finely engraved centre with a basket of flowers and scroll decoration, date aperture, arch with strike/silent selection, large eight pillar triple weight driven movement, quarter chiming with five hammers striking a nest of five bells and a larger bell for the hours, 274cm high 17.06.15, Re-built caddy, pierced frets are later, well figured case with good colour, front of the case with some cracks and the surfaces are slightly lifting in parts, later door locks, later piece of wood has been added around the trunk door escutcheon, scuff marks to the sides, front of the plinth with some later mouldings and the surface has ripple marks, silvered chapter rings are faded, movement looks clean, signs of a later escape wheel and pallets, with three weights and a pendulum.
A very rare red Japanned striking tavern clock with signed and dated movement, the black painted circular dial with gilt Roman hours and outer Arabic minute ring signed Jos. Morton, Aberford, the four pillar movement signed J. Morton 1764 on the front plate, grooved barrels, brass pierced hands with counterbalanced minute, the case decorated with gilt chinnoserie designs against a red ground, the trunk door with ships and islands with a kite flier in the foreground, fretted ears and moulded ogee base, dial 31in (79cm) diameter, 65in (165cm) high. Joseph Morton is recorded by Loomes, B. Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World Vol. II as being born circa 1724 and dying in 1774. An eight day oak longcase clock, the 12 inch brass dial signed Merryweather, Birm.m, chapter ring with arcaded minutes, subsidiary seconds and calendar sector in the foliate engraved centre, the arch containing rolling moon and indications for High Water at Southampton, London & Bristol, four pillar movement, the case with panelled plinth, fluted pilasters to the trunk, hood with caddy top above swan neck pediment, 88in (224cm) high.
An 18th Century black ground Chinoiserie decorated dome top trunk decorated with dragons and warriors, 112 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS Lots of wear, damage, and losses to the decoration. Some splits to the dome of the trunk. Locking mechanism damaged. Split to the base. Joins at corners becoming loose and need attention. General wear and tear, scrathes, scuffs, chips, missing sections throughout. Underside is rough and unpainted. May originally have had a stand.
A 19th Century leather and studwork decorated dome top trunk of small proportions, the top decorated with studwork "MS" flanked by a pair of wrought iron handles and lock, the interior bearing original paper label inscribed "William Chapple.... Camp equipage.... Manufacturer to His Majesty's Army & Navy, 14 High Holborn ...", 76 cm x 35 cm CONDITION REPORTS Leather all over with various marks, scratches, tears, missing sections, bubbling, scuffs, etc., all studs with similar wear, woodworm holes throughout, base showing signs of wear, leather to back completely ripped off to one section, left-hand hinge is broken, interior generally poor with stains, rips, missing sections and foxed, paper label to interior foxed, with small missing sections, all over showing significant signs of wear and tear.
