EIGHTEENTH CENTURY INLAID MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK, SIGNED EDW(AR)D BARLOW, OLDHAM AND DATED 1793, the 14 ½” brass dial with silvered chapter ring and signed roundel and date plaque to the foliate scroll engraved centre, enclosed by pierced spandrels and powered by an eight day movement striking on a bell, housed in a case with urn shaped finial to the swan neck cornice, and brass capped free standing and fluted columns to the fore corners, set above a long trunk door with satinwood banding and oval shell inlay to the centre, flanked by fluted quarter columns to the fore corners, and raised on a conforming base with chamfered fore corners and ogee bracket feet, 87 ½” (222.2cm) high
